The desserts and coffee were good but the customer service was poor. Example 1: I asked what a boxed sweet was near the till and was dismissively told by the Sowa employee "it's a polish dessert that i don't know how to explain". Zero effort to try or ask one of her colleagues. This speaks of poor staff training and/or staff indifference. Fortunately I was with a Polish friend so I called her from the table to see if she could enlighten me and she did. Example 2: no advance warning the shop was closing so i was unable to buy the takeaway chocolates I had planned. Well run cafĂŠs will give customers a heads up they'll be closing soon, giving you an opportunity for a last order or to start winding down your conversation before chucking you out. I'd not been to the Nicholas Centre before and had no idea it shut so early on a Saturday (5pm). Example 3: incomplete phone number on their website listing. It's missing the last 2 digits (see photo) so if you want to ring for directions you have to go elsewhere for the number. See photo

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Went there to get a cake for my sister In law today afternoon, at around 1.30 pm (18/03/2023). The staff ignored me for over 5 minutes. Even whilst there was no one in front of me or behind me in the que. After 5 mins I get a very rude "what" from a staff in black Tshirt to my polite "excuse me". She decided to yell 'what' without even looking at me and while moving away from me behind the counter. I was counting my lucky stars in heaven at this point, to atleast get her partial attention. I was asking her some details of the cakes displayed..she answered in complete dismay..as if "why are you wasting my time". Then before I could dare ask anything else, almost in full distraction mode she started talking to the collegue, behind the counter. This time again showing me their back..by this time i thought i was better off going to M&S across the road and getting the cakes from there..which i did in the end!..never entering this shop again thank you!!

Sowa Patisserie located in Sutton, possibly one of the few upscale Polish cafes offering pierogis, bakery, chocolates and fine teas. Anyway, the cute dinky little croissants caught my eye so had to get one. To be honest, they are not really croissants but more like cream horns shaped into croissants filled with filling in the middle coated with coarse sugar. The texture is the same as the cream horns being flaky, firm and slightly soft in the middle. I was hoping to get a nice one for pics but before I could request it was too late, she already bagged a wonky one. Will be back for the pierogis.

It is nice place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee but the customer service is AWFUL , they are racist ,don’t know if it is with everyone but definitely not a Muslim friendly ( as this happened to another person I know but thought may be she is exaggerating ) we asked politely if there is any alcohol in the cakes , the lady just answered with a certain tone in her voice without even an eye contact “all our cakes are with alcohol except this 3 “ which is fine , and asked us to go straight to the til if we want to stay and be served 😡 …….. then while still sitting there the waitress just came at the end took the coffee cup in front of me without even asking if I finished or not 😡, or even a smile on her face even after we said thank you for the service … that was quite rude and chocking to be honest , I never had such an awful experience here London or such a bad customer service experience .

After two experiences in this cafe with same attitude definitely not coming back would rather go to central London to pay more money rather than to have such a bad experience.

Being nice to people and having smile on your face can change someone’s day try...

Sowa Patisserie in Sutton isn’t just a patisserie — it’s pure magic wrapped in warmth, kindness, and the smell of freshly baked perfection. From the very first visit, you feel like you’ve stepped into a place filled with love, smiles, and genuine care.

The amazing team — Silwia, Ada, Aga, Mila, Sandra, Kasia and Gosza — are truly the heart of Sowa. They’re not just staff; they’re the soul of the place! Always smiling, always welcoming, and always making sure everything is perfect. Every time I walk in, they greet me like an old friend — it feels like visiting family. 💛

And the food… oh, the food! Every cake, pastry, and coffee is a masterpiece — so delicious, so fresh, and always served with a smile. Everything comes right on time, beautifully presented, and full of flavor.

Sowa Patisserie has that rare kind of magic — once you go there, you don’t just become a customer… you become part of the Sowa family. 🕊️✨

Highly recommended from the heart — because this place isn’t just a patisserie, it’s pure...
