Spice Hut London — Restaurant in London

So I'm a regular customer there and had previously left 5 stars. But after today's service, have decided that they deserve 1 star.

So I ordered a doner meal and as its Ramadan and gets packed closer to breaking fast time, I ordered food 1:30 hrs early. I asked the guy if he could put salad separately as I didn't want it getting soggy. He was fine with it. Passed order along.

When my food was ready, another staff member says that he cannot seperate the salad and that if I want it seperate it will cost me 50p. I have been a regular customer since 2006! This is the first time I've heard of such thing! If this was their policy, then why hadn't the guy that took my order advised me of this when taking payment! So clearly the 2nd staff was just making stuff up!

I told him I'm requesting the salad put in a small plastic food bag... I'm not requesting an additional salad box! But he still insisted that I would need to pay 50p.

This is absolutely shocking behaviour from that man. I'm certain he made this rule up! I've been to many pfc's including other spice hut branches, now have ever made such silly request!

I recently decided to visit this particular Spice Hut location after having frequented the other two branches nearby. Regrettably, I must express my profound disappointment with the food quality on this occasion. My order included a doner kebab, chips, and hot wings. The chips were particularly displeasing; they were excessively thin, overly crunchy, and lacked softness inside, which I noticed is a consistent issue across the other branches as well. The hot wings also fell short in terms of flavor. While the doner kebab was passable, it did not compensate for the overall decline in food quality, which has notably deteriorated from the pre-Covid standards when the offerings were quite satisfactory.

Despite the unsatisfactory meal, I observed that Spice Hut remains exceptionally generous with their condiment selections, providing a wide array of sauces on the table. However, this does little to offset the disappointing quality of the food. Update from my last experience couple weeks ago, we ordered from here on uber eats. One of our drinks was missing so called the shop to let them know. The guy on the phone was rude and was claiming that he put it in and I was lying. why would I lie over a drink!

That was not the only issue we found hair in the food and the sauce given was all gone off! Didn't bother calling again as they didn't seem to take it seriously. My sister contacted them on Instagram, I'll leave the screenshot so you can see. The person said you can claim a refund for the missing drink but they were missing the point that I found hair in the food and the sauce was gone off!!

Absolutely terrible and disgusting. How can we trust ordering from here again knowing we found hair in here. Will definitely not be ordering and won't...
