Spice Of India — Restaurant in London

There was 2 families with kids in when we arrived. It wasn't late 7ish so understandable. However, when the youngest start screaming, crying & having a tantrum, the parents appeared to just ignore it. Not a great experience. There was no music to drown out the screaming kids either. The soft drinks had definitely been poured from a larger bottle, despite paying £3 for a glass of diet coke, it arrived totally flat! We could've bought our own 2ltr bottles for the huge mark up for a 300ml drink! The poppadoms were ok but the condiments that came with them lacked flavour. Even the lime pickle was relatively bland for lime pickle & both the mango chutney & the mint yoghurt, were so runny & lacked flavour. Pilau rice was nothing special. I had a king prawn curry & i expected to see a whole king prawn in my curry but they had all been cut or mushed up. There was not a single whole king proawn in either mine or my daughters king prawn dishes. The actual sauce that the twi different curries had been cooked in lacked flavour & seasoning. This was the first time I tried this restaurant & my daughter was visiting me for her birthday & she had really wanted to go out to an Indian restaurant. My first choice of restaurant was fully booked but as the star rating was good & hygiene rating was 4, we settled on this place. I have to admit, the restaurant was very very clean inside. You can tell alot by the cleanliness of the toilets & they too was very clean. It's just a shame that the food was severely lacking in flavour. The service was OK, staff was polite & good arrived quick. So if they do read their reviews, then please please stop cutting your king prawns into small pieces. If I order king prawns, I want to see king prawns in my food. Also, please sort out the seasoning & taste issues because it was all very very blind & lastly, stop serving over proved flat coke that has come from.a 2ltr bottle.. I don't mind flat diet coke but, if im paying £3 for it, I expect it to taste of the drink I'm buying. When it's flat, it loses flavour. I guess it was in solidarity with the...

Sorry but we all found the food very bland with no flavours, seemed like Sat. night leftovers :(... then a couple of their regular customers came in sat down for a meal and put their football game on their phone on loudspeaker, no inviting lights were put on, it was not cosy and enhanced the miserable weather outside, so not a good experience and will not be back. Shame as when we last came in Dec. 2023 the busy atmosphere and food were great, such a let down this time. The service was good however but still a disappointing end to my sister's birthday which was supposed to be an end of day...

We went here yesterday as we order from here at home but thought we would go and sit in to eat well I will never be going back here or ordering again from them very bloody rude made us feel awful infront of everyone disappointed there food wasn't nice this time when you get s**t staff it let's it all down that's without letting under age...
