Stamp Brasserie — Restaurant in London

I’m hesitant to post this review because my first experience here was so positive. I previously found the staff to be lovely, warm, efficient and helpful.

I would like to preface this by stating that I visited on bank holiday weekend (Sunday specifically) - so this experience could be due to how busy it was that day. Various events were happening (carnival) and the staff did seem stressed.

Whatever you do, do NOT order the roast dinner. I’ve never been served such a poor, VILE, cheap cut of meat in my entire life. There was so much fat on there and it was evidently poor quality. It was so revolting. The (allegedly medium rare) meat was so tough, by the time I cut 3 slices my potatoes and Yorkshire pudding (which were initially delicious) - had become cold and congealed.

I really regretted not getting the veggie version as it probably would have been delicious!! There’s a lesson there - always go with your gut, especially when red meat is involved!

My friends breakfasts were delicious (jacket potato especially!) - it probably didn’t help that it was also my birthday. I did the mature thing and left the establishment, didn’t finish my meal and...

What can I say, 100% one of the best coffee shops / brasserie that I've tried in the UK. Great cook, really good Eggs Benedict, good sized bread, eggs on point, its perfect of you want to feel satisfied. The staff was really polite, great cleaning. Really sympathetic and always aware. It's just a shame that they don't have mocktails in their menu's but despite of that, their menu is really complete and they cater to every single taste.

I tend to consider cleaning and tidiness as a great aspect of any restaurant because it shows concern with how the food is dealt with and how they feel about their customers. Nonetheless, this restaurant perfectly demonstrated that with their constant table cleaning, and communication with the clients. Even with a larger and fuller crowd in the restaurant with just 2 people they have done a great job.

The cook and the staff were really chatty and very polite, I saw the manager but I didn't have the chance to speak with him to congratulate and compliment because he looked more focused and less chatty.

I had a really disappointing experience at this café. The place looked nice from the outside, but that’s about the only good thing I can say. The service was painfully slow — it took over 20 minutes just to get a simple coffee, and the staff didn’t seem to care at all. When my drink finally arrived, it was lukewarm and tasted burnt.

The food wasn’t much better — my sandwich was soggy and clearly not fresh. To make things worse, the tables were sticky, and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Even though the café wasn’t busy, no one came by to check if everything was okay or to clear the dirty dishes.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are plenty of other cafés nearby that actually care about their customers and serve decent coffee.

I would also like to add that i witnessed them reusing the mint and lemon they put in the tap water as they took the jug of tap water from a table and filled the water up again to bring to my table which...
