Absolutely horrible , would never recommend this place to anyone , I don’t know if it was just a bad day for them or that’s how atrocious the service is , I genuinely don’t understand why the 5 bread was served 10 minutes after the hummus, also the waiter would continuously look at our table acknowledging that we had no bread yet he would smile deceivingly knowing that we were starving. The waiter also came to our table to take our orders without a pen and paper ??? It was clearly obvious that mistakes were inevitable.( He came over to ask our order again 20 minutes later as he was confused) I had later noticed that people that came after us had got their order before us , yet again I let it slide because we ordered food for 6 people hence why I wasn’t really concerned at first. Eventually our food came but they came separately within a long period of time , my mixed platter came 5 minutes before my friends orders , I wanted to wait for their food to come however ours was starting to get cold so as we nearly finished our platter ,our friends were just waiting patiently. The bill came to over £100 but yet such a simple job was turned so complexing hard with the waiter. In summary the food is not worth the ridiculous price, furthermore the customer service and the professionalism is not up to a high standard, I am a nice Person who doesn’t like to talk down on something but I am just being brutally honest as it may help someone that...
Read moreI will now share my great regret. Then I will continue my review of this restaurant. I'm at a restaurant in north London. I didn't go to Umut 2000 Ocakbaşı Haringay restaurant because I was a little lazy. I am extremely sorry. But from now on I will never be lazy. I have eaten at many restaurants that serve Turkish food, but now someone has to say this. Stop using that spicy salt that you use for grilling and that makes every grilled dish the same. This spice has nothing to do with Turkish cuisine. And also, the salt it leaves in your throat and burns your nasal passages also ruins the meat you eat. I ate all over Turkey, even in the villages. I don't know who suggested such a terrible spice to restaurants, but if you go to Turkey, you will see that the dishes you eat have nothing to do with the real ones. Umut 2000 Ocakbaşı does not do this. Even though Umut 2000 Ocakbaşı is not exactly the taste I was looking for, they have the best presentation and food in London. And also the prices are extremely reasonable. I congratulate the whole team. I will never eat kebab anywhere else again. I apologize to you too, Umut2000 Ocakbaşı, for my laziness. See...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer of this spot for many years even with their original branch in Dalston hackney.
I popped in last night to break my fast with my partner and the meal was good as always. We both got lamb ribs which were very succulent and juicy. As starters the table gets bombarded with on house goodies such as tzatziki, hummus, green salad, onion salad, warm pita and a lovely grilled onions in its own marinated sauce/juice which is making my mouth water as I type this! We also ordered a portion of lamb liver which just hit the spot before our mains came.
We both had their home made ayran which is a traditional salty yoghurt drink consumed in the Turkish culture which compliments the meat you’re having.
To top it off we devoured our classical Turkish tea and couldn’t have been happier. The service is always on point the main grill chef Kemal is friendly with the food being delicious.
Check them out,...
