Storia Woodford Green — Restaurant in London

Pleasant staff though some seemed confused and lacking in awareness, nice atmosphere but unfortunately terribly atrocious food. Even tin food tastes better. I paid for a meal where I took one bite and had to return the food. Tasteless not to mention severe confusion and presenting me with a plate consisting of the very ingredients I told them I was allergic to. This was negligent to say the least. When the actual dish I ordered came it had no taste and was cooked very poorly. Just terrible. What a waste of money. Surprises me that you don’t actually need to have a good chef to operate as a restaurant. If I saw a customer had returned their food uneaten I would not feel comfortable taking payment off them. It’s laudable that they claim to make “fresh” and “authentic” food. What I got was far from and was definitely not fresh but stale and lacking any flavour whatsoever. My family and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Storia Woodford this evening. We were a party of 2 adults and our 20 month old son.

We shared some olives and the garlic pizza bread. Our son had the Tomato Pasta (the portion was generous, without being overbearing) and he ate most of it. My husband had the Mushroom Ravioli (as a vegetarian he had a good amount of choices across the menu) and I had the Beef Ragu. The food was excellent quality and was delicious.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and were generous with the attention they paid our son - he was given colouring to do, they played peek-a-boo with him when passing our table and when paying the bill one of the female members of waiting staff let my boy not only take the receipt from the card machine, but let him tap it onto the reader to 'pay' and printed a new receipt for him.

I've just returned from dining at Storia, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the impeccable, customer service to the lovely decor and delicious food, everything was perfect. Having won a competition for a dining experience here, I was eager to observe how they treated all guests, and I must say, every single guest, whether a winner or not, was treated like a VIP. The cuisine was authentically prepared, but what I truly appreciated was the innovative twist on certain dishes.
