I visited this Subway around 12:00 pm and ordered two jacket potatoes—one with cheese & beans and another with chicken tikka. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing.
First, the staff member put just one tiny block of butter. When I politely asked for a little more, she bluntly replied that it would be charged extra and that “it’s standard.” In other Subway stores I’ve visited, staff have offered more than two blocks without any issue. How can the “standard” be so different from branch to branch?
Second, the cheese was not heated or melted on either of my potatoes. In other locations, I am always asked if I’d like the cheese melted—again, inconsistent standards.
Third, the takeaway packaging is flimsy. The jacket potatoes were given in a loose thermocol container that does not close securely and can easily leak. In fact, mine did leak in my bag. When I asked the staff member to seal it properly, she rudely said, “We don’t do that here.” Only after I requested using the same stickers used for wrapping subs did she reluctantly seal it—while making obvious faces of annoyance.
I genuinely like Subway’s food, but almost every time I visit a Subway outlet the staff are consistently rude. They act as though serving a single customer is a burden because they are “busy.” I work at an airport, one of the busiest environments possible, and we are still trained to provide respectful customer service.
This is the third time I’ve had such an unpleasant experience. I really hope management addresses these issues and provides proper customer service training so the quality of the food is matched by the quality of...
Read moreWhenever I'm asked what salad items I want, I say "everything except pickles and jalapenos" - why is it that they never listen? Without fail they always skip the grated carrots. Man needs his Vitamin A.
Try it yourself. They always think they're done with salad and ask about the sauce and I have to remind them about the carrot.
Other problems I've had here have involved a new worker not knowing what "mayo" is. I said mayo, she picked up ketchup or something. She held it above my sub and I shouted "Mayo mayo mayo!!" she looked confused and just continued to put ketchup on my tuna sub. What kind of animal would think that's an acceptable combination?
Appalling.
I think it's a testament to how decent the food actually is (when they eventually get it right) that I actually go there quite often despite inefficient service- and the price. I swear the price has gone up. Back in uni days you could get a Sub of the Day for £2.20 and I think that came with a drink. I think you're looking at £4 for a 6 inch meal.
All meats are halal here.
The staff don't give you a receipt with the store number on it, which you need to do the subway survey at tellsubway.co.uk in order to get a free cookie. Don't worry though, this Subway's store...
Read moreHorrible service. Staff wouldn't even put the correct salad on your subway even if you repeat yourself. They are careless, and do what is easier for themselves rather than doing what you have kindly asked.
They would start putting on salad before you have even started saying anything, then look up at you with this smile? Then you tell them what to put and they are trying to do everything as fast as possible while still careless. It's very clear they just wanted to complete the order to go back and chit-chat with the others rather than doing their job.
An order would come to the till and you give them the VOUCHER for a FREE drink with your sub, but they wouldn't serve you it simply because they say that they have already closed the till... are they dopey?
I ordered four subs while there was a deal where you receive a free hot drink with a sub, and they wouldn't give a single hot drink simply because i ordered four subs. Not even one drink? i'm not asking for four, but just at least one... Are they dopey?
I have completely stopped going there as the service is repeatedly sh*tty, i can never expect a...
