Superfish — Restaurant in London

This used to be our go-to fish and chip purely because everywhere else wasn’t as good but every single time we got takeaway they would mess up our order, forget to give us a part of it etc. on the third time I called them and they obviously said come back and we will give you what was missing. This wasn’t worth our time as we live a good 10 minute drive away and the rest of the food would’ve been cold. We swore the last time would be the last and we started using the California in Belmont (excellent btw). This was about a year ago. Well we happened to be passing there this evening and thought we’d give it another go. Returned home to find they’d mucked our order up yet again and not only that, the cods were tiny, smallest we’ve seen and all the food was so greasy. We sort of forgave the chaotic orders because the food was nice but tonight just reminded us why we don’t bother going there anymore. I could understand if they were busy but tonight they weren’t, they are clearly just incompetent. Will not...

The lady that cooked a small cod at around 18.30pm this evening on 11/5/23 deserves a pay rise! Finally, a truly delicious piece of fish, tender, tasty and exactly the right amount of batter. The quality that earned Cheam Superfish awards 50 years ago, but which has been sadly missing for a very long time, even if still better than other fish and chip shops. Indeed, I won't even buy chips any more from Cheam Superfish as last time, on a Tuesday, the girl behind the counter spent the 10 minutes I was waiting for my order to cook, finger dipping into the batter, cherry picking all the best chips for herself. It was truly disgusting to watch and I was served up and took home all the potato ends, which made up a meal of literally just fish and grease rather than fish and chips. I hadn't been for a meal here in years, so it was nice to come back and have food here with family and friends! There were quite a few of us as friends from Italy were over. The people working were very accommodating at fitting all 13 of us in! Thank you again for your kindness and patience! Anyway, I decided to go for the scampi and chips for £15.50 and the portion size didn't disappoint! It was all very tasty, and I just about managed to finish it all! This fish and chips place has been here before I was born, and it's still going strong today! It's definitely worth a visit if you're not local but in the area and fancy a decent fish and chips!
