Sweet Thursday — Restaurant in London

The food is tasty. We used to order pizza from this place. But we had an awful experience in the restaurant while waiting for the pizza to take with us. We ordered the food to take away and a drink to have in the restaurant. We were having a drink when the food was given to us and we opened snacks to have with our drinks. The manager said we cannot eat food inside as it was for taking away and eating food inside by us would negatively reflect on other guests. We packed our starters back into the bag. When we discussed this request, the manager came to us and said we should leave the restaurant as she accused us of being drunk and have an appropriate language! But we were not drunk and we did not us any bad language, except that the manager (or maybe it was just a waitress) listened to our private conversation (that in fact she did not deny). After, she came up a few times insisting that we have to live immediately although we did not do nothing bad, we did not act aggressively, we did not offend anyone, etc. I felt like you Dan order a food or a drink there and can be asked to leave in the middle of your dinner just because the manager did not like you or did not like your private conversation. I was absolutely up for her calling the police as I was accused in being drunk although it was not true!!! The food is very tasty but the manager has to change her attitude and be more friendly to the guests of the restaurant. Take away food is recommended. Dining in is recommended as well when the manager does not work on that day! Not sure we are going there again…...

Just had bad experience at Sweet Thursdays which is a shame as I’ve been a customer for 6 or 7 years. Ordered pizza and glass of wine. Staff took order and then all of them went into training exercise and staff feeding (customers left to their own devices). Once I’d finished and had managed to get staff to help I asked for the bill and for the remaining half of the pizza to be wrapped up in foil as I’d come by bicycle and couldn’t carry a box. I don’t know how this offended the young woman to whom I made the request but she informed me that she would bring the bill and get me a bag. The said bag when it arrived was smaller than the pizza (which was obvious) and even though I stacked the pizza the pizza was sticking out of the bag. I showed this to her and she said she would get another bag. She then asked me if everything had been alright and I said it had been fine until the end when she failed to sort to take away part. She didn’t respond well to this and took my overflowing bag away and returned it a few minutes later. On my exit she sarcastically wished me well and I raised a question about her career in the service industry. I got 10 steps down the road and then went back and dropped the remaining pizza back to the restaurant asking that she be told I was no longer interested in the pizza. (Once out of site no longer safe). Such a shame for such a lovely...

Booked my sons 6th birthday party here, they offer a package for children to make their own pizzas. We got there and the table was set up with a few balloons, they said the children would get hats too but there were no hats. The pizza chef showing the children what to do was a nice man and was friendly (he is wasted working in this establishment) The waitress spent most of her time by the entrance on her phone, none of the staff really bothered to come and see if we were OK or needed anything. I had to ask three times for the children to be given their ice cream. They didn't bother refilling the cordial for the children or clean anything away. They basically sat us down the end and just left us to it. Absolutely awful service (apart from the younger chef) This was my child's first ever schoolfriend party and the staff at Sweet Thurday ruined it. I will never go there again, they seriously need to get the staff some customer...
