Batch Baby – A Morning Ritual in Retro Tones 📍 Rose Lipman Building, 43 De Beauvoir Rd, London N1 5SF

Tucked just off De Beauvoir Road, Batch Baby feels like a love letter to slow mornings and analog charm. It’s not just a café—it’s a curated mood. With its candy-apple red La Marzocco espresso machine and sticker-covered fridge, the space hums with quiet confidence and creative energy.

Atmosphere Think retro-funky meets plant-lover’s haven. Blondie plays softly in the background while sunlight spills across mismatched tables and leafy corners. Whether you’re perched with a laptop or lounging on the terrace, it’s easy to feel both productive and at ease.

Coffee & Bites Batch Baby takes its coffee seriously, rotating roasters and offering hand-brewed filter options that feel like a small ceremony. Highlights include:

Flat white – smooth, balanced, and consistently praised

Prosciutto toastie – gooey, salty, and deeply satisfying

Flaky pastries – ideal for pairing with a mellow espresso

Loose-leaf teas and seasonal specials – thoughtful and well-sourced

It’s the kind of place where even a simple latte...

Local person fluctuating the coffee shops around. Today we did Batch Baby with two friends. There was a bit of a misunderstanding about where we would meet, so by the time I got there, I already had a coffee.

One of the staff walked up and said I couldn't have a coffee from somewhere else (in quite the unfriendly tone, by the way), as they are a coffee place and they won't make money this way. Now, I obviously understand that part, but I also didn't want to have to either throw away a new coffee or leave my friends behind.

So I said how about I buy some food instead, that way I can finish my coffee (in an unbranded cup!) and they make money (more than on a coffee, by the way). He said no! 🤔

They made 0 money, and I had to leave. Make it make sense 😂

Lack of business acumen of the staff = 100%. It was 8am, though, so maybe they were still sleepy.

The 2 stars are for the nice environment, because usually I like going there. Won't be back anytime soon...

A nice place for a coffee. Have been here twice and coffee is hit/miss but will come back to try again as service is nice and the place is welcoming Ambience: Warm industrial cafe with plenty of seating in long tables, chairs or tables next to windows. A great place to come work or meet for a coffee Service: I've been twice. Service was quick abd friendly the first time, but slow yet friendly the second time. I waited about 10 minutes for a coffee during this visit, which was a bit perplexing as there were only 2 other customers. Food: I didnt have the food but there are sandwiches and pastries available, including a couple of gluten free pastry options. The coffee was good, but the single-shot Americano we ordered was so watered down, it looked like a tea. Price: Comparable for the area.

I believe they switch out their guests every month; it’s so cool being able to have access to so many different roasters, especially internationally! The interior is really cozy with the retro style as well. The couches and chairs are so comfy and I really feel like I’m sitting in a friend’s living room. The baristas are super great and happy to help answer any questions you have about coffee!! The coffee itself was fantastic. We grabbed a flat white and a filter coffee and they both went down a treat. I absolutely recommend this place! The food looked good as well, we didn’t grab any this time, but looking forward to next time we visit!
