I had an amazing dinner at this place today. I started with Cheese Cauliflower and then Beef Sunday Roast for main. Cheese and cauliflower is a simple combination, but actually they go very well with each other. Since I ordered wine, cheese never goes wrong, it was a right choice. And then, the roast arrived. It was superb! Every item(potatoes, carrots, red cabbage, kale, parsnip and Yorkshire pudding), needless to say beef, was properly cooked so that each tasted best. And the gravy was also so excellent that I ordered sourdough bread too so I can enjoy some left on the plate! Lastly, the portion was perfect, never too small or never too big. I usually eat a lot, but I didn’t need to eat anything after arriving home. I would say this place is one of the must-visit pubs in London! You won’t regret :))

Went here for a traditional Sunday roast with my family before they headed back to NZ and it did not disappoint! The vibe is really nice and spacious and it accommodates big groups easily. We tried all the roasts except the pork and they were perfect. Great portions and full of flavour. I loved the seasoning on the potatoes and the Yorkshire puddings were massive. Shout out to the seed roast which was lovely! We had the sticky toffee for desert which came with custard on top and was very yummy. As we were leaving they had someone playing the piano. Cool vibes and lots of seating and reasonably priced.

A cosy pub with a lovely fire and an amazing comfort food! One of the best vegan roasts I've ever had. Potatoes were crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, the gravy was delicious, and everything had tonnes of flavour. Will 100% be coming back for more! Shout out to the chef for such a good dish. When it's not a Sunday Roast, the selection of vegan food is still outstanding and you get delicious proper pub grub that isn't just a salad. Plus, the staff are really friendly and funny too! 10/10

The Rosemary Branch – Where Theatre and Ale Share a Stage

📍 2 Shepperton Road, London N1 3DT

The Rosemary Branch isn’t just a pub—it’s a character. Nestled on the edge of De Beauvoir Town, this historic spot blends Victorian charm with bohemian spirit. Once a music hall where legends like Marie Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin performed, today it’s a place where locals gather for craft beer, Sunday roasts, and fringe theatre with heart.

Atmosphere Inside, it’s all creaky floorboards, velvet drapes, and vintage oddities—from stuffed animals to model aircraft suspended mid-air. The mirrored bar glows softly, and the upstairs theatre adds a layer of creative energy that sets it apart from your average pub. It’s cozy, eccentric, and unmistakably North London.

Food & Drink The menu leans gastropub with seasonal British comfort:

Beef cottage pie with aged Italian cheese – rich, warming, and deeply satisfying

Black Bomber cheese croquettes – crisp, punchy, and perfect with a pint

Mussels in cider and leek cream – aromatic and generous

Ales from Hammerton, Five Points, and Fuller's – well-kept and varied, though some wish for a wider rotation

The Sunday roast is a local favourite—hearty, well-balanced, and served beside a real fire if you...

Really the absolute worst place I have been to in London. The male bartender is so agressive and mean, he made me and my girlfriend so uncomfortable. Not only did he yell at a child to stop playing the piano but he was blatantly rude to me and my girlfriend and I’m not sure why. In addition, he “forgot” to put in our food order and was super angry towards us when we asked after 45 minutes how much longer the breakfast would be. But the worst of it was when he then gave our food away to another table that ordered the same thing significantly after us. The female waitress came out after him and apologized and she said that that food was supposed to be for us and she wasn’t sure why he gave the breakfasts to them..

I have never experienced someone so rude and agressive before, he never apologized for forgetting to put in our order - we ended up just asking for a refund and he wanted to subtract the tea we drank while waiting, and was so rude saying “ well you drank the tea”. I also work in the service industry and there is just no reason to treat people like this.. if you want to experience toxic masculinity and an extremely rude bartender...
