POOR SERVICE - STAFF LIE - ALL FOR £128 - CASH ONLY - 28/08/20 so i attended this place knowing it will be expensive 30 quid a head and max stay 2hours but as anniversary visit for my partner i thought why not surprise her lets spalsh out also such demands as to per head and max stay i thought this must be a great experience right after all there other good food and shishas bars in london must be something special about this place So i called they take card and you can que perfect. first of all we que'd for over an hour outside in the freezing cold and it was raining a tad (yess you can reserve but it was spontaneous) however you would think for such a expensive place they would have already put something in place knowing people have to social distance. like position you in a queue take your details and to just go sit in the car and we will call you once your table is ready. but no you had to queue. After waiting for over an hour my partner had to go visit the loo we was next to be seated. Lady comes up to seat us and instead of saying come let's get you seated your partner can join you when she's back. she decides to have a conversation with the security guy there's only 1 person its a table for 2! security tells her his partner has gone to the toilet im standing right in front of her clearly ignoring me she just goes round me and takes the 2 girls behind me to be seated with no communication with me at all no explanation totaly ignored. my partner comes back and wonders if the 2 girls got fed up and left but i explained what happened and she was fuming at the service and wanted to leave after waiting over an hour bare in mind she in the loo at most 5minits. so for her costly error of visiting a loo we now had to wait a further 15minits. finally getting a table. the food was ok nothing special for the price shisha was decent dessert was nice bare in mind though you can get as good dessert or better at most places for fraction of the price. so where we was seated was near the entrance so naturally it was colder we had asked the staff on 4 separate occasions through out the evening to turn up the heating which was just an electric heater. i could tell it was low as the others around us had a bright orange bar and ours was dim. take into account we was already cold when we was seated and then to sit you in a cold area aswell we felt like we was deliberately getting punished. finaly 1 of the staff walks over witha remote and me and my parter was like yess will finaly get some heat and the guy walks up then lifts the remote and turns off the heater of the couples sat next to us and just walks off i thought it waa cold before it just got worse the couple next to us was like what its freezing i explained to them ive asked on 4 occasions to turn ours up. at this point i got a little irrate and shouted one of the staff over and explained irratly wht had happend finally some decided to turn both heaters up. by this point we was already fed up angry and annoyed of the whole evening we had waisted here we are not even from London just here for the weekend so time is precious. my partner was fed up and wanted to leave wen didnt even stay the full 2 hours. after 1 hour 15m we decided to leave. the bill came to £128 quid and some change so i whent to pay the bill by card an they said they dont take card i explained i called and asked if you do u said you do. he explained card machine has gone down abit ago amazingly they was a card machine which charged 99p for withdrawals. i took 130 out left the payment on the table and walked out. when we got in car we both decided we will leave a review for this place after reading the reviews the staff are liers in this place they say we take card and then you turn up after quing or reserving there is no getting out of paying by cash at a extra cost and are accustomed to providing bad service by reading other experiencesi will nver come back here again and i will never recommend this place to anyone. SUMOKI and ZEN LOUNGE are miles...
Read moreIf you’re MUSLIM and ASIAN don’t come here. Was staying at the Hilton next door. Service was absolutely appalling as we were initially refused entry as my younger brother was wearing slides (we hadn’t checked the website for the dress code we must admit as we had come for the hotel), however we said he would go change into trainers which other customers were wearing and they still said we wouldn’t be allowed entry. When I questioned the double standard the manager came and said “the issue isn’t the shoes it’s the shorts”, looking at us up and down and said “we have to some standards” and said “we’re the first shisha lounge in the UK”. I said my brother had some black track bottoms in the hotel that he could change into and he still said no. Then a woman walked in with her partner and was wearing a sports jacket, hoody and black tracksuit bottoms. I asked why she was allowed in, they said “because she’s a woman it’s different”, I said that they were discriminating based on gender. I actually ended up crying because their attitude towards me was so horrible like I was worthless. They actually laughed in my face when I started crying. I went back to the hotel and the receptionist noticed I was upset and I told her what happened. She told my brother to change into the bottoms and trainers and she took us back to the restaurant and they allowed us entry. When I went inside the restaurant I saw someone with football shirt and another with a Nike tech fleece tracksuit, I raised the issue with the staff they said they’re not sure why the others had been allowed - for context, I was the only visibly Muslim person there, I was wearing an abaya, I’m not sure if this was why we treated this way but that’s all I can think off. Also, one of the 3 staff members that were initially refusing us entry to kept coming opposite me and kept staring at me whilst I was eating. When we were leaving, there were two Muslim Asian men who were also being refused entry based on clothing. They were wearing jeans, trainers and bomber jackets. I asked if they were being refused entry, they said yes, I said that I was confused as there were men of two different races upstairs wearing similar outfits, some even wearing football shirts and Nike tech fleeces, they were shocked and they raised it but the staff just stared at them. To the 3 staff members that made me feel so small, I hope you realise there’s a way to speak to people and get off your high horse. Unsure why you “have standards” that are so high considering you’re a shisha lounge lol (even if you are supposedly the first) and your food is subpar. Crazy thing is that I think it’s owned by Asians, not sure why your staff are so discriminatory. Please also note, it wasn’t the security that refused us entry initially it was the manager and...
Read moreUnfortunately my personal experience here was not all it was cracked up to be as i had high hopes for this place. My niece had booked her birthday reservation a month in advance online, and called them several times and they dont answer the phone. nor do they call you to confirm your booking with them. It is extremely confusing to find because its inside the park. both of my SatNav's were directing me elsewhere, but thats not a fault of theirs. Its just very awkward as there are locked gates all around the venus park but only one main entrance which I found without the satnav in the end. When you arrive, there is plenty of parking spaces which is good. We were seated at the table and began to order. They dont serve alcohol which is fine. The mocktails arrived and our food. The portion sizes are good. But they are quite pricey. £7+ for a mocktail lol? I left early as i had other plans, and asked the staff to pay for my meal. The staff printed off the receipt and asked me to go to the front reception. I went there and was told I could NOT pay for my part only. We have to pay all together. Which I found extremely weird as thats never happened before... The staff then directed me to a cash point in the building where I took out the money to give to my niece to contribute to the bill. I ended up paying DOUBLE because of how they do their receipts. In normal places receipts will show what you ordered and if two people ordered the same thing, it comes up twice on the receipt. In this place, if two people order the same thing, it just comes up once on the receipt but the price increases/doubles. Because I thought I had the one thing I just paid it. I leave dinners earlier to avoid any fuss at the end. I asked the staff to confirm this was what I had ordered and they said yes. Its embarrassing kicking up a fuss about the bill after you've ordered and im pretty sure they're aware of this because I felt a little taken advantage of. I later heard from my niece that the manager then wanted everyone to pay £40 each as a booking fee which made no sense because the meal came upto £350 (total) and there was 9 of us and some people didn't have a meal. I had 1 drink. Chick satay, and street cooked rice. that would mean I would have to pay over £60? - baring in mind, this was not on the reservation confirmation my niece received... He also argued with her about paying service charge (which is supposed to be optional). Normally, i only pay service charge if the service was exceptional. But in this case it wasn't. The manager wiped off the service charge and the additional £40 per head after my niece had to complain about it.
Im disappointed to have to even write this. not a place I would visit again....
