TL;DR Bad service, inflated prices,cold food and rude aggressive manager trying to pull a fast one on me once I phoned back to complain and then told me to "come and see him at the shop if I had a problem with him" (That's a threat if I ever heard one...)
This place USED to be great. Great food, great service and reasonable prices...
Unfortunately, since new management several months ago took over this once great food venue has taken a nose dive.
Prices have gone up, food quality has gone down and the pouty, entitled manager has some real customer service issues. This isn't the first time I have been made to feel like it's only my money that is of importance to the venue...
I preordered an extra hot peri peri chicken wrap meal. Arrived to collect it after eating the chips, I moved on to the wrap only to find it stone cold and not spicy at all. Just cold wouldn't be soo bad but cold and wrong order both together? Nah that needs a phone call back to T'z.
I phone and get through to manager who took my order orignally, I politely explain my situation. He tells me that they have done nothing wrong, he then tells me to read out a order number that should be on the foil paper the wrap came in. I could see the number but I asked him to tell me what the number should be, he refused. Politely, I explained that if I just read the order number out, he could be looking at a completely different number on his screen and what's to stop him from just saying, "Yeah, that's the number we have here. See we never made a mistake"?
He gave no answer to my question apart from "Why would I do that?" and still refused to give me the number. He then insisted that the only way he could help me is to read out the number on the wrap foil paper and said we were going in circles. I could smell a rat before but at this moment I knew that this guy was trying to pull a fast one on me and I was not falling for it. When I directly asked him, "So you are refusing to tell me what the number is?" He started hesitating and said again he couldn't help me if I never gave him the number. That is when the conversation started getting more heated. The manager knew that I was on to his game and despite being in the wrong he still stuck to his guns. Eventually he said "If I had a problem I should come to the shop and deal with the problem face to face" A clear threat so I told him in no uncertain terms that I would never be stepping foot in his shop again and what he could do to himself.
I would have been happy with an apology and maybe 50% of my next order but to flat out deny any wrongdoing then attempt to trick the customer into revealing what the correct order number should be so you could lie to the customer about being wrong AND THEN verbally threaten the customer after all of that?

Contacted them and they said it was a problem with their grill it would be there soon, and put the phone down. Order arrived at 10:30pm when kids had gone to bed, driver wouldn't take it back because they had closed. Order wasn't even complete or anything like advertised. Side orders missing, food cold, banoffee pie must have been run over it was so different to menu picture. Contacted them via the chat option in their app. Was told by foodhub that they would deal with it the next day as TZ now shut, next day apparently manager not there, third day apparently not their problem speak to takeaway directly. What is the point of having a chat service that just wastes people's time? Banoffee pie looks good on their menu, what arrived looked grey, no fruit or anything else, looked like it had been driven over by the delivery driver, not even vaguely similar. Mash stone cold, wedges didn't show up, rest of the food had been cooked at some point but not recently, all cold. After three days of chasing them, the manager gets on the phone and offered me a free portion of wedges (the wedges that I paid for but didn't show up, so not free at all) and 15% off my next order. Mistakes can be made, they regularly are at this place, but order arrives over 2hrs after it was supposed to, not as ordered, cold and not fit for consumption. Insult me with, "we will send you the wedges with your next order" that is not dealing with the issue, that is robbery. Terrible customer service, totally unreliable and rude. Food is actually pretty good when it turns up within normal timeframes, but don't expect to get what you ordered or paid for. Read moreVery disappointing. We have ordered food from here for a few years and always enjoyed it. However, on the last occasion we ordered it was a disaster! Over 35 minutes late - was completely cold and the bag was smashed to pieces. The burgers had burst out of their containers and slopped everywhere, leaving a saucy mess. The chips were half empty and had spilled inside the delivery driver's bag and when we told him that half our order was in his bag he just laughed at us. We called the restaurant to let them know about the problems but were told that the manager was too busy to speak to us. There is an obvious breakdown in organisation because the restaurant said the driver had taken out "several" orders all at once and it took the driver 30 minutes from leaving the restaurant to delivering. Nobody can keep food warm for 30 minutes while delivering, so it begs the question why the restaurant are asking drivers to take so many orders at once - be upfront and honest and say you are busy and it will be a little late. We would rather wait more time and receive a proper order rather than the cold sloppy mess we received.
We sent a photo of the mess to the restaurant but at the time of writing this review have not received any message in response. They were not apologetic and it felt like we were an inconvenience to them rather than a valued customer.
I would advise anybody considering ordering from TZ Peri Peri to think again because there are lots of recent reviews reporting a poor service.
It is a shame because when they are good they are very good - but more often than not recently it is well below standards.
I hope that whoever owns this business takes note because I would be furious if my business was operating so poorly and putting off customers like me from...
