Thai Cafe — Restaurant in London

A vegan disaster!

I've ordered numerous times from Thai Cafe in the past and have always been satisfied with the quality of food. Being vegan it really helps that they offer vegan options on Deliveroo unlike some of their competitors, however, the experience we had this evening was nothing of the standard in the past.

We ordered 3 mains (all vegan), rice and a salad. As soon as we opened one of the mains (Pad See Ew) it smelt funny so we tasted it - turned out it had pieces of chicken inside. Immediately, we called the restaurant to notify them of the mishap. They promptly prepared and arranged to deliver the same dish in a vegan option. Having waited an additional 30 minutes to eat we finally started our meal only to realise that the new delivered mains was no better!! It was incredibly oily and tasted and smelt like it had been cooked in the same pan/oil as chicken. The second unfortunate incident was that the second main (Pad Mak Heua) was cooked in fish sauce!

We had to discard two of the mains because they were simply inedible! By this point we only had one main (Green curry), a small salad and a portion of rice between 3 people to eat! Not only did we not have enough food left between us but ended up spending a whooping £43 for a meal that should have cost half the price!!

I've only given 1 stars because the customer service seemed good, however, the overall experience was horrendous! Unfortunately, based on my experience Thai Cafe is not vegan or vegetarian friendly and should you order or dine here I'd strongly...

Good food but suspicious customer service!

The portions services are large as I went for the drunken noodles and chicken satay although the satay sauce was cold.

The service was strangely suspicious as they tried to overcharge me multiple times in the restaurant. As I went during the Eat Out Campaign, they provided an incorrect Eat Out discount, claiming its accurate when the government confirmed its 50% of the bill per person up to £10. See attached.

I would stay away from the restaurant as the staff did not understand the discount despite promoting it on their shop. Further providing false information of who the actual manager is, whereby there was none as he/she was not there to address...

Ok food, poor customer service

Food starters are great curry is oversweet. Can't even finish a sip quality fluctuates. For example they give less & less prawns in pad thai and last time my prawns were overcook

Service took over 2 hours to get served & pay the bills. Painfully slow and the server doesn't really pay attention to customers the woman served curry dish had long nails with bit of dirts underneath, and it nearly touched the curry they forgot serving some parts of dish like limes in my pad thai served rice 10-20 minutes after curry, after it started getting cold

I like the restaurant, but I don't recommend visitijg them during busy period like 12-2 or 5-8 also...
