My friend risked her life here.
We had the worse experience ever in this restaurant. My friend told the waiter that she had a severe allergy to peanuts and asked to make completely sure that there were none in her dish.
The dish arrived with peanuts' crumbles mixed with the rest. Luckily she noticed by chance after a few bites, but her throat went numb and she didn't know what to do. Luckily the situation didn't get worse than that and she didn't have to take her emergency injection, but we all got really scared and couldn't eat anymore.
We stopped the waiter who didn't even apologize or checked if she was ok, but rather told her it wasn't his fault and blamed the kitchen. While we argued that it was inadmissible and that they should take allergies seriously because people can die he begun moving the crumbles he could spot on a side of the dish mumbling that he would bring us a new one. That's when we asked to speak with a manager.
The waiter left for some minutes and came back saying that the manager was really busy and he might have come later. We all got even more upset, which didn't change much in the waiter oblivious behavior.
Finally the manager came after 15-20 minutes, did not apologize, he just said he understood us and offered us a small discount on the food, while glancing at his shoulders looking like he really wanted to leave the room quickly. We begun arguing that they all seemed not to take severe allergies seriously and care about the risk for their customers. He still did not apologize nor seemed concerned about what happened, and he simply asked us what we wanted him to do. We tried to put some sense in him for a while but you can't get blood out of a stone, so we finally gave up and left, our evening completely ruined.
If this is the care they put into their customers' safety I don't want to know what goes on in their kitchen. It's full of good restaurants nearby, don't set foot in this...
Read moreMy mum and I came across this restaurant after arriving in London 3rd of April. It was decent enough and a nice location in the central. However, Iâve had the worst experience in here compared to all the restaurants Iâve ever been in. Nobody checked on us if our food was alright, had to ask for the bill 2-3 times and got an extremely rude response from this asian waitress who finally said âYeahâ from across the restaurant in a very passive-aggressive manner with a smug on her face, after Iâve witnessed her and another staff fiddle with the till and attend to other customers, as they ignore my request. She then showed me the card machine -not a single word was spoken from her- and still on with the very unwelcoming behaviour. Before we left, I asked her where the exit was - she didnât look me in the eye, answered me with the same stinking attitude and muttered her words like I disrupted her polishing when it takes 5 seconds to show me where. I got frustrated and told her she was being rude. She then mocked me in front of other customers repeating what I said.
As an Asian/Filipino woman myself who manages a bar and has worked in hospitality for several years, God forbid one of my staff treated our clientele in such a horrible manner. Asians back in my city in Scotland are attentive and engaging, with an obvious sense of community and treated us like family. We did nothing but enjoy the food after travelling all day, but we left with such a sour taste about this place due to the lack of hospitality, lack of respect for the customers (except if youâre a man then you get a smile from her), lack of social skills thatâs extremely vital in resto/bar work, lack of attentiveness, and overall just⌠horribly rude staff members.
Except for this Romanian guy who was most apologetic when he was the only person that tend to us with a smile. I hope that guy can...
Read moreThai tho has always been one of my favourite restaurants in London - especially having grown up in Thailand. Visited there multiple times with my friends with really good food. However had a really poor experience with a staff member on our visit today. My friend, who is vegan, requested her dish to be made vegan. She has had the same dish at that restaurant multiple times before and was told on each occasion that it was vegan. A male waiter then came to our table and very rudely advised us that nothing on their menu can be made vegan and even the vegetarian dishes actually all have chicken powder in them. Obviously a surprise to us as we had visited this restaurant countless times and never been told this before. When we tried to ask if there was anything they could make without chicken powder it was once again rudely rejected. We were very surprised by how aggressively he was speaking to us even though we were speaking calmly to him. His colleagues did kindly apologise for his behaviour but the way my friend was spoken to left her in tears and of course we left without eating. If you are vegetarian or vegan then avoid this place as even the dishes marked as âvegetarianâ are obviously incorrect. Itâs understandable some restaurants cannot cater for dietary restrictions but it appears, by their own admission, that this restaurant has been mislabelling their food. With the exceptionally rude service I will not be...
