I do not recommend 'The Balti House' Indian take away, They used to be good, but have now gone very down hill since they changed owner. I won't be going there ever again.
We bought a takeaway on the evening of 01/04/25 and got the following - X3 Curry Chicken meals X1 Chicken Tikka Masala X1 large Pilau rice X1 Meat Biriyani X3 Salad X4 Naan Bread X1 Saag Aloo
The chicken Curry and Rice was very dry, and the chicken was completely overcooked.
The chicken tikka masala tasted nothing like Chicken tikka masala, and was so full of salt it was inedible.
The pilau rice was o.k but still salty, and you could see the bottom of the pot had been scraped, and had hard dry bits in it.
The Naan breads which we bought 4 of were tough, chewy and inedible.
We got 3 salads, but they mostly consisted of onion and old salad so we had to throw them away.
The mint yogurt was again far too salty.
The sag aloo wasn't too bad. we managed to eat some but no one else liked it at all. That was also just edible
The meat biryani was probably the only edible thing, but still wasn't fantastic just edible.
Overall it was a total waste of £60.
We called the restaurant to complain, we was told that they did not have a Chef today and he had gone sick, I asked to speak to someone in charge, we was told no one in charge was at...
Read moreI love this place. The prices are great. You can see them cooking the food in front of you. There's always a queue of local people waiting to get served. They serve very promptly and there's not much wading time. They're very popular with the local community. And people have been going there for like 10 or 20 years at a time. The staff are really friendly. You can tell that they deal a lot with regular customers because there's lots of greeting the customers when they come in. I really like the chicken Tika and the peshwari nan.. That's enough for me. I'm stuffed. And sometimes I just can't help myself and I have to eat it straight away on the table they've got. It's a really nice place to go. You really feel like you're part of some little hidden secret that everybody knows about. It's like a little club of locals who'd been going there for years. It's one of these old school friendly places. In London it's really nice because there's nothing worse than the fake niceness you get in all these new places. In here it's like a regular that everybody loves. I always end up talking to other people in the queue and they tell me they've been coming for years lol. I wouldn't say it's like the most perfectly seasoned Indian food I've ever tasted, but it's very nice food. There's lots of it and it...
Read morePlease avoid this catering service completely...... I work at Acton mainline station and have thrice had take aways from Balti House and also had other work mates done the same and each time we consumed their food we been severely sick. I often meet the cooks who come to work there from southall and after befriending them i got to know that the owner who is a mid aged asian guy buys recycles stock and often out of date. He recycles cooked chicken and lamb and freezes curries for weeks and serves as freshly made. i was shocked to know that they keep two ready made curries into which anything can be dumped and make it seem as it is freshly cooked curry... be it lamb or potatos or aubergines. The kitchen is utterly unhygenic and the best part is..... none of the staff eat food cooked in house. Imagine the chef walking out of the shop to enter sainsbury to buy sandwich and chips and eating it in the sitting area of the shop.... SHAME.
An update from today (14th Jan20). i entered the take away to check if they had any freshly made curries upon which the owner said... and I quote...'' I dont feel the food is good for you as all the 6 curries are more than 3 days old, try the nan kebabs''. ...
