The place is conveniently located inside Acton Park, close to the entrance beside Acton Central Overground Station.
There is seating available inside, and outside - the outside seating is a workbench style wooden table with an umbrella in case of rain or, albeit unlikely, strong sunshine :)
There is a bar inside with a couple on tap, a service station style drinks fridge and an industrial coffee machine. If you get a table, they do table service.
The pizza is good. It's not amazing or insanely outstanding ... I say this because of all the rave reviews I noticed - as long as you go there without great pizza expectations, you won't be disappointed.
The mini golf course is good fun. I took a toddler one weekday when it was quiet... Now clearly a 2yr old is not actually sure how to play mini golf but it was actually really fun! Top tip for dads who are babysitting but running out of ideas.
The course seems well maintained, and they do limit entry during busy periods. I stand corrected on cost as I can't recall exactly... I think they have a family of 4 package for £20, and a single entry is around £6-8.
I'd recommend this place - my personal preference is during less busy periods because you get service quickly and you can enjoy the golf at your own pace. I suppose that applies to any recreational and food service...
Read moreI cannot review the dining experience, only the experience of getting some hot drinks. We were in the park in the late a afternoon, and thought we would see if they offered hot drinks. The restaurant was mostly empty so we thought there might be a chance we could sit inside and warm up. We were met at the door and asked how they could help, instead of explaining that they didn’t offer indoor seating for drinks only, or what ever their reasoning, the waitress just barred the door and told us to sit outside. We ordered a black tea and a cappuccino, sat down and shortly after received our drinks in take away cups. The waiter put them down and tried to walk off immediately, without offering sugar or any way to remove the tea bag. When we asked for sugar we had to specify exactly how many sugars we’d like, in a way that made us feel even more of an inconvenience. When the waiter left I found that my tea had been made with two bags, and probably before the cappuccino was made so it was incredibly strong and bitter. The cappuccino was okay, but the tea was really not enjoyable, and paired with the fact we’d paid £8 for two drinks and a side of feeling like an imposition, we left quickly and without any...
Read moreI have just had to leave the cafe as there was a Italian woman speaking like she was drunk and clubbing. I have asked her and his Italian friend who was part of the staff (pizza oven) to low their voices as I was with two little ones sleeping the man said "sorry, we will! But the woman replied to me "What's? It's a public voice, and started to raise her voice louder and louder talking to his friend (the staff at the oven) Obviously, she forgot that babies get ill and when they finally sleep you just try to find a quiet and nice place like "Putt in the Park Acton" instead of rocking your baby outside in such a cold weather! Few minutes before there was a family with two toddlers, what a nice granny told their grandchildren " if you want to play, you have to be quiet because there's a mum with two sleeping babies..." I still think that the cafe is a nice family place and have nice hot drinks, pizza, etc, but they should look after their customers before their friends and most of it is about children. My poor unwell baby slept just 20 minutes the time we have been in the cafe. THANKS AGAIN ITALIAN WOMAN!! said Italian because both of them were speaking...
