I have been a regular customer at The Banc since opening, and it used to be one of my family's favourite places to dine. The restaurant boasts delicious food with amazing flavors, and my personal favorite is their mix grill dish. Both my kids and my wife enjoy the food as well.
The ambiance and decor of The Banc are also worth mentioning. The atmosphere is fantastic and complements the dining experience perfectly. It's evident that the owners put a lot of effort into creating a visually appealing environment.
However, I have made the difficult decision to stop going to The Banc due to the consistently rude service we have received during our last two visits. Despite the high prices, it is not the cost that bothers me the most; it's the disrespectful behavior of the staff.
On our last visit, we spent £180 for a family of five. Although the restaurant imposes high service charges, that wasn't the primary issue. The problem arose when the team started talking about us behind our backs, pressuring us to hurry up because they claimed there were people waiting. To make matters worse, they even approached us while we were still eating our main course and informed us that we had only 30 minutes left.
My wife and I could clearly see the staff members whispering and making comments about us from the corner of our eyes. The restaurant has a time limit policy of two hours, which I find to be quite unnecessary. However, what truly disappointed me was the unprofessionalism displayed by the staff, which left me feeling insulted and offended.
Regrettably, I have decided that The Banc is no longer worth my patronage. Despite it being my favorite restaurant in the past, the consistently rude service has soured the overall experience. I hope the management of The Banc takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue to improve their service for future customers.
One thing a dear business partner told me is money will always come you have a successful business but the manor you treat people is more important as that’s what your remembered by, my money won’t make Banc rich or poor or the owners as I have messaged the owners as there great guys got simple message back that’s it .
All the best to you guys and I hope you guys have the biggest success but I will no longer...
Read moreWe recently visited The Banc for a late-night dinner, but the experience left us deeply disappointed. First off, if you're going to accept 11 PM reservations with a 15-minute grace period, don’t make guests feel awkward or unwelcome upon arrival. The moment we walked in, the receptionist was quite rude and informed us that the restaurant would be closing at midnight. She suggested we sit in the lounge, which stays open later, and we agreed to this arrangement. However, we were unexpectedly seated in the restaurant instead, only to be reminded multiple times by different waiters that it was closing soon.
These constant reminders about the closing time made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Rather than enjoying a relaxed meal, we felt pressured to finish quickly, as if the staff were eager to wrap things up. The lack of communication between staff members only made things worse, as we were told the same things repeatedly by different people, making the evening feel chaotic and unprofessional.
To add to the discomfort, one of the male waiters (who appeared to be of Latin origin) kept asking where we were from, which felt inappropriate and intrusive. This, combined with the disorganization, left us feeling on edge throughout the meal.
When we raised our concerns with one of the waiters, it seemed to fall on deaf ears. We were finally informed that our lounge table was ready, but this was after our food and drinks still hadn't arrived, further adding to the disorganized and frustrating experience.
The last straw came when we asked to remove the service charge due to the poor experience. As we were leaving, the receptionist (Ellie) approached us with a strange attitude, saying that her colleague mentioned we wanted to talk to her. The conversation felt dismissive and unhelpful. When my cousin mentioned it was her birthday, Ellie oddly responded with, “It’s also my birthday today,” which felt completely inappropriate and only made the situation more uncomfortable.
While the food was decent, the poor service and unwelcoming atmosphere completely overshadowed the evening. What should have been a special night ended in frustration and disappointment. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend The Banc, as their service clearly needs serious...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience at The Banc despite being long-time customers who have previously enjoyed dining here. We made a reservation for 5 people at 8pm and called ahead to inform the restaurant that we were running around 15 minutes late due to an accident en route. We were told they couldn’t hold the table, but after explaining we would accept reduced time at the restaurant, they agreed to keep our booking.
Upon arrival, the front of house told us our table had been saved but we were taken to a cramped 4-person table where two of us had to share a corner. When we questioned this, we were told our table had been given away, directly contradicting what we were told moments earlier. We asked multiple times to speak to a manager, and were passed around repeatedly, with long waits and no resolution. One manager even said it was “our fault” for being late, despite us informing them in advance.
Eventually, the front of house manager offered to move us to a table upstairs, which turned out to be in a completely empty area with no atmosphere. Already frustrated and having lost over an hour of our reduced reservation time, we chose to stay at the original cramped table to avoid wasting more time and energy.
The rest of the evening was no better. Our food was inconsistent, especially the dynamite prawns, which tasted off and fishy, unlike previous visits where it was really nice. The shisha service was poor, with repeated delays in changing the coal. The table location, directly by the entrance, meant we were constantly being brushed past by servers and customers, with our bags knocked off chairs and trays passed over our heads. Staff had to clear plates before we were finished just to make space.
The only redeeming part of the evening was one floor manager, Vish, who was sincerely apologetic and made a genuine effort to help. Unfortunately, the rest of the team showed little care for our experience.
It’s incredibly disheartening to be treated this way at a place we’ve returned to many times. This visit has left us reluctant...
