This is a response for KAISHUN YPSILANTIS:
Well that really was a colourful recount of your visit to the cafe. It is always a joy to read such creative fiction. I’m especially impressed with the part where you apparently encountered an entire drama unfolding in your mind while the staff simply carried on with their duties.
For clarity, let’s set the record straight:
The Friendly Staff: The "lady" you mentioned was, in fact, a valued customer, enjoying her meal. It is quite the twist to imagine her as an interrogating restaurant owner, but let us not confuse fiction with reality.
Service Protocols: The staff are trained to offer assistance, not to harass customers about their dining intentions. The idea of someone “torturing” you while you were just trying to use the toilets is, to say the least, a fascinating stretch of the imagination.
Professionalism and Racism Accusation: Playing the race card is serious and unscrupulous. The cafe prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their background. Claiming racism without a shred of evidence is not only harmful but diminishes real instances of discrimination.
"Bossy Owner": It is a wonder that a fellow diner could be mistaken for the owner. If only the real owner had the time to merely sit and eat with friends all day. Unfortunately, she’s usually busy making sure that actual customers are having a great time.
As an avid attendee of this establishment, I appreciate your dedication to providing feedback, even if it is laced with more fiction than fact. To all potential customers reading this, I encourage you to visit and see for yourselves how the cafe really operates.
P.S next time you decide to write a review, please use one of the many tools available online to proofread your work; your fictional tale was rather difficult to follow due to its many grammatical errors. If you really struggle, I have a great tutor in mind who can assist, I'd be more than happy to put you forward; especially if you plan to pursue creative fictional...
Read moreWe had a party recently and a friend of ours recommended using The Chestnut as we wanted to save time on preparing all the food ourselves. We couldn’t have been happier with the food that was delivered to us! Honestly, we spent about £8 per head and we had enough food left for lunch the next day with other friends that couldn’t make it to the actual party. We had a mixture of things, like stuffed vine leaves, couscous, houmous, onion salad, Greek salad, potatoes, olives, falafel, lots of fantastic bread and my favourite, a rolled pastry with feta inside that had honey drizzled over the top. They were amazing, I could have eaten a whole tray of those to myself!! The whole service was brilliant from beginning to end starting from the help and advice they gave on what to order, to delivering on time and finally the guys even help set up the dishes. If I could give them more than 5 stars I absolutely would.
Thank you...
Read moreI brought my children to go there a lady who was sitting on a table having her meal with friends suddenly asking me if we are gonna order the food or not when she learned I needed to bring my children to the toilets. That was my first time experience ever in such a rude attitude. She sounded like an owner but if she is she should behave professionally instead of having her meal at same time behave like a bossy owner. Or probably I’m Asian and she’s racist. Extremely uncomfortable to be tortured in such way. Will never go there again.
EDIT: Please look the owner’s response you can understand they are not polite at all. Please also check other lowest review they have received which also mentioned their downsides of attitude. I gave two stars because all other staffs were polite. The owner should learn from their own waiters...
