Won't be attending again, was shown in by a rude long haired guy, who pretty much threw our menus at us then seated us.
We were then greeted by a lovely young blonde waitress who was very friendly and took our drink and food orders promptly. Unfortunately we then waited an hour for our starters, when they arrived they were all burnt. Me and a friend ate ours but another friend sent hers back. The waitress took it back and was evidently embarrassed.
We then complained about the wait and the fact that all items were burnt and the waitress offered us complimentary soft drinks on the house. (I was drinking alcohol).
We then waited a further 45mins for our mains, I had a pasta dish which was lovely and I couldn't complain about that. However my friends had the beef stew which was again burnt and the potatoes were barely cooked and rock hard. We continued with it and was always polite and friendly as our waitress was evidently run ragged. She had atleast 10-12 groups on her own.
We were given no explanation as to what the hold up was. We then had dessert, I had the lemon meringue which was gorgeous but my friend had the tiramisu which tasted odd.
After spending 3.5hrs there and eating out dinner and dessert between 9:30 - 10:30 at night not by choice we finally got our bill and decided due to the appalling service we would not be paying in full. A manager came over and we explained, she then offered to take a 3 course set menu of order which we agreed to. She then went onto laugh and say that they always struggle on a weekend and she suggests we come back Monday - Thursday for a great experience. If the manager knows it's shocking on a Friday and Saturday why is nothing being done?
We never were given an explanation as to why it took an hour to cook 4 meatballs and why it took 3.5 hrs to eat our 3 course meal. Sadly I definitely won't be returning to the Chislehurst...
Read moreAbsolutely dire night out!! Rare family get together which was ruined entirely by this restaurant. Despite the table being booked well in advance they had to cobble together tables to seat us which were near the entrance door and right next to an 11 year olds party which was not pleasant! Eventually they moved us to a better tablet at least in regards to not being next to the front door which was cold. It took over an hour just to get the starters for the table and roughly another hour for the mains!! In this time other people had come in and had food in front of them not long after they had sat down. I had the new Siciliana salmon dish, the salmon was hard and extremely dried out though the pasta that came with it was ok. I ordered off of the cocktail menu, the first one came without the meringues that should have topped off the drink,i changed the cocktail to the morello cherry which was delicious,i had another one and the second one came up without the cherry garnish on top. Everyone has agreed that we will never eat there again. The only good thing about this place was that we were given a substantial discount for the terrible service and the time taken for the arrival of the food...

This is my second visit to the chistlehurst Zizzi, and I must say its probably one of the best. On both occasions we visited on Fridays and although busy the staff were on point! Welcomed at the door within a minute or two and asked where we would prefer to sit. The venue is contemporary and well lit , but that doesn't affect the mood or how cosy it is.
For a Friday night I expected a slight delay in our order taken and the food arriving but that wasnt true. Our waitress was over promptly to take our drinks order which arrived promptly (nice little touch of putting the lime in a separate container for us to add to our taste).
All of our three courses arrived at perfectly timed intervals and wasnt left waiting. The waitress cleared every course within a few minutes. We were certainly looked after.
The pasta was cooked perfectly, arrived fresh , hot and full of flavour. The pizzas on the other tables looked just as good if I'm honest.
We ended up spending just over two hours inside mainly because we were talking etc and not once did we feel like we were out staying...
