Mirage 2 — Restaurant in London

I don’t normally publish bad reviews of businesses as if I’ve had a bad experience, I’d prefer to deal with the business direct themselves and give them the benefit of the doubt. However, the experience I had this morning was awful. I ordered the American pancakes and requested the fresh fruit on top. The menu advised the pancakes were £5.95 and the fruit on top £1.40 extra. It did not stipulate a choice of fruit and the waiter did not ask me what fruit I wanted. The pancakes arrived with banana, blueberries and strawberries on top. When it came to payment, the female behind the till asked for £10. I advised this must be wrong due to the above and the female said it was £1.40 per fruit item. I advised that I was not given a choice of fruit and the menu did not advise this either, it was just a collective ‘top with fresh fruit’. The female was extremely rude basically blaming the issue on me and was reluctant to charge me the amount that the items should have been. This service at the end of the meal was a real shame as the waiter had been friendly and bubbly and this could have been an issue very easily sorted by the business accepting a miscommunication issue with their menu. In addition to this, there was probably about 3 slices of banana and strawberry and about 3 blueberries on each of the 3 pancakes so I feel £1.40 per item of fruit is...

Have eaten here quite a few times with family. Looks can be deceiving. At first glance it may not look much, just a old cafe, however it is far from! The welcome is always brilliant and the atmosphere comfortable and welcoming. It is a great place to eat no matter if a solo customer or a large family, for a snack or a full meal. Mirage 2 is great for every day but also for special occasions. As for the biggest part.....the food..... Well. The food is always absolutely amazing. The portions are huge! The food is always freshly cooked, comes out hot, (when it should be), looks great but tastes even better! We have tried numerous dishes from the menu and have never been even slightly disappointed. The selection is large enough, to certainly have something that everyone will like, including a 'cheaper' section. Irrelevant of where on the menu you order from you maybe surprised but you won't be disappointed! As for the cost it is very reasonable. At times we have eaten with 5 adults & 2 children and it still came to under £70! I happily give Mirage2 the full 5 stars. My only disappointment is that they aren't closer to where I live, though that's maybe a good thing for...

If you want the best experience at this cafe . Go when it's not busy ! If they're busy they don't seem to have the staff capable of serving all the costumers fast enough. So food is rushed. Chips undercooked etc. They "forget" to bring you your beverages. Because when you have only one person making all the beverages for a full cafe. Along with also taking payments etc. Its a lot to do for one person. So things get missed/forgotten

Otherwise if youre there when it's quiet . Food is amazing. Everything comes on time etc. Staff is always nice Regardless of how busy they are. Honestly I don't have a true "complaint" about this cafe. It's more of an observation!!
