VILE!!! I placed an order in the restaurant to takeaway. The service was cold and robotic, also quite abrupt like it was an inconvenience me placing an order! As I stood and walked around in the restaurant for my order I glanced into the kitchen area. I could clearly see the lavatory!!! There was NO closed doors to stop the spread of germs. There is suppose to be TWO closed doors between the kitchen and toilet facilities laid down by the environmental health regulator. Whilst waiting for my order I heard several burst of sneezing coming from the kitchen and from the lady that took my order. My only hope they turned their head away from my food being cooked. The lady that took my order didn't wash her hands after sneezing, but my back was turned to her at the time and I am assuming she even did that! When I jumped into my car with my freshly prepared meal. We grabbed a 'freshly ' cooked spring roll and bit into it. We both at the same time yelled out "urrrrh" from a large ball of grease to burst out of the spring roll. The grease then cascaded down our chins and on to our tops. It was a mystery on how a spring roll could be nuclear hot one end and cold at the other end. At home with the other dishes, which were piping hot. We all piled into them. We all had the same expression as all we could tast was grease!!!! We wrapped the meals in numerous layers of plastic and throw them into a large dumpster so that the foxes could not get to it. Golden City was always our only restaurant we'd buy from pre C19. But not now..... there are so many other restaurants that are far superior and much more...

We have ordered with Golden City several times before and they have always been fantastic and the food is top notch, however tonight (a Friday) we ordered a small takeaway and did not receive our food for over 2 HOURS. I rang the restaurant several times to enquire where our food was and they told us ‘10 minutes’ - 10 minutes came and went and still no sign of our food being out for delivery. Over 2 and a half hours after ordering, I proceeded to call them back and waited on the phone until they told me the food was out for delivery. The lady managing the phone then hung up on me whilst I was waiting for a response about my food delivery. I was told I couldn’t get a refund unless I cancelled. We’d been waiting 2 and a half hours for our food and all shops were now shut so I had no choice but to wait until my food arrived. No apologies, no refund or gratuity to reflect the poor hospitality and timings and I am very sorry but it will be the last time we order with...
