The Dolphin — Restaurant in London

Hello... family from across the pond here!! We have a blended English and American family and had rented an air b&b around the corner from this pub. Our air b&b experience was awful and we are working on refunds..... .BUUUUTTTTTTT we ended up around the corner from the friendliest pub ever. Keep in mind we're Americans so my English pub stereotype is a place that serves home cooked food, cold beer, knows the locals (and gets them riled up on thier sports team choices!) But most of all is a welcoming fun place to hang around. The dolphin did not disappoint, it actually set a very high burden for any pub or bar I walk into now.

Between the owners and the staff you will feel like you have known them for years!!

To staff and owners: you are most welcome to look us up if you are ever in Seattle, Washington. I would love to reciprocate your hospitality.

Also, I'm writing this after watching the English vs Netherlands game and I want to tell you I CAN HEAR YOU ALL SCREAMING/CHEERING ALL THE WAY IN SEATTLE!!

I cannot express how impressed I was when lunching at the dolphin pub yesterday. 4 of us oaps went for lunch and this is a delightful old fashioned pub with great food and atmosphere. Whilst there though my friends husband collapsed and this is where the exceptional staff kicked in. I called an ambulance and trying to relay instructions whilst watching my best friend in panic mode and we thought her husband having a heart attack one of the very young barmaids took my phone off of me and took over. Due to ALL of the staff combined they helped save his life. That is a damn good pub with dedicated well trained staff. I applaud you. I respect you and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Went lastnight for my birthday with a few girls,we felt very uncomfortable and not welcome there as the son of the owner kept looking over at us,we were quite just wanting a girlie birthday drink,then my guests was told they could not go to the outdoor area for a smoke so we had to stand outside the pub,I confronted the guy but before I could go back in my friends had decided to leave because of the way they had been made to feel so we went to the Elliott 1 minute from there and was made to feel welcome and continued my birthday with more drinks and cake which the owners supplied plates for us,thank you to the Elliott and would not recommend...
