The Golden Tiger — Restaurant in London

I had high hopes for this after some of the reviews but perhaps I ordered some of the wrong things. The worst parts were the won tons and crab claws. The won tons did not appear to have anything in them and were strangely shaped filo pastry, and the crab claws were also strangely processed with a bit of shell stuck in them to appear like crab. The sugar on the seaweed was too sweet (I prefer a brown less processed sweetness). The beef chill was decent with the rice and some vegetables. I liked the vegetables in the chicken satay but I prefer a richer peanut sauce to the watery one it came in (as is often the case with the dish option rather than the skewers). I wouldn’t get the seafood platter again and unfortunately didn’t enjoy it enough to come back to this place to try anymore dishes… it was a massive treat for me to spend this money on this meal and so I’m really disappointed. At least there were some parts that I enjoyed and better the mains than the sides. I think 3 stars is more reasonable and realistic than other reviews on here and hopefully will allow the company to see how they could improve and help...

Pretty poor experience really. The pad Thai noodles were all soggy, mangled up and inedible. When asked if pineapple rice was vegan, the answer from the chef was yes - and yet it had bits of fried egg throughout. The sauce in the vegan vegetable curry was suspected of containing chicken stock?? So overall, this place serves poor quality old fashioned Chinese food, with very little thought in preparation. No thought at all of providing food for vegans - I don't think they understood the term. I'd say the menu needs a re-think - with ingredients clearly labeled and understood. The slow service also needs a re-think and better communication...

Super nice couple running it. I’m south of the river visiting a friend and it pains me to say this really is superior to my regular Chinese in north london. I ordered the dry special chow mein, salt chilli ribs (dry), beef chilli and black bean sauce and egg fried rice. First class!
