Well about a year ago now, I went down to this micropub and made some very derogatory remarks, based entirely on one very short visit. The owners pulled me up on Facebook about this and I visited again today and completely changed my mind. The Ales that I had today were very well kept and the service was excellent. There was a selection of cheese, biscuits, olives and pate on the Bar that were free to customers. I spoke to both Mark and Liz, who were gracious in accepting my apologies. The lesson learnt today is that a brief social media slagging off of a business, can make the difference between them surviving or going to the wall ; one potential customer, discouraged from going there as a result of a bad review is money out of someone's pocket and I would urge people to think carefully about what they put on social media in future. Read moreRude staff I have tried to drink in here twice, one time 25 minutes before closing, the other 15 minutes. Both occasions the "bar man" was on an iPad. Both occasions he couldn't lift his head to look at us. "We are closed" back to tapping on iPad "oh, it said 10 pm on the door" more annoyed response, as we were clearly interrupting the game or what ever he read doing "we are closed"
Always tried to support small local businesses (Hello burger is a great place just round the corner, as is Sidcup Bistro) this not a great place, no customer service... Just like the "bar man" I would...
Read moreNot quite sure why it’s smell here of dirty cloth everytime, but it’s not very pleasant. The place is quiet and tables are not being cleaned. The one we sat at was not clean from previous people crumps all over. Awful atmosphere…I will elaborate - no music and so it feels like people are listening each others conversations. Sorry but it always smell of dirty cloth, we’ve stopped going there because of the smell. We went back today to see if anything’s changed, but it was even worse...
