Don’t bother booking here if you have a dietary requirement. I’m really disappointed overall with our experience and felt like a naughty school child being scolded by overly officious management. It was like everything was too much trouble and we should just be grateful they let us book!!

Booked for 8 adults for afternoon tea, including my partner and our parents. Was told they can’t cater for my dairy free sister (not vegan) this time of year as they are doing Festive Afternoon tea. When I queried about the main menu, was informed they wouldn’t usually allow someone on an afternoon tea table to order from this but they’d make an exception for her on this occasion. When booking, I was asked if any allergies. I am vegetarian, not an allergy to my knowledge? Yet when I turned up was told I couldn’t have a vegetarian afternoon tea as I didn’t let anyone know in advance (it’s listed as an option for vegetarian festive menu on the website alongside the normal one). Also had management waving the receipt and email in my face to reiterate the point that I should have told them in advance - really bizarre. Managed to then completely forgot a drink for my dairy-free sister, no apology or acknowledgement of this. And to top it off, lots of awkwardness around a partial refund as they’d left off the service charge when I booked initially and paid in full in advance.

As mentioned, if you have no dietary requirements I’m sure you’d be just fine. If you do have any, be sure to give extra notice as clearly it’s too much...

Just attended here today and was so incredibly disappointed. Thought I’d take my mum for brunch and it was horrid. Last year the food was lovely but this year it was inedible. The eggs Benedict was gross, the eggs were severely undercooked, gooey and the yolk was still raw - attached a photo which is hard to see but the yolk was just sitting in all the gooey jelly stuff like still perfectly rounded and not cooked, the pork was dry, grey and covered in mustard. Costing almost £40 it was not worth the money as we left pretty much all of it apart from my sister who had a sandwich. I’ve come away feeling very disappointed, hungry and sad as it was a treat for my mother and she couldn’t stomach the second egg. 100% not worth the price and sadly wasn’t to our taste.nobody came over to ask how our food was so didn’t want to make a scene by going up and complaining as it’s a small place and they’d already taken the money. Really regret...

The best afternoon tea for my friends baby shower! I organised my friends baby shower at the chunky teapot. So helpful on email when arranging. The inside decor is really pretty. It was all ready on arrival and they allowed us to bring some extra decorations and set up before everyone arrived. We had afternoon tea over the weekend and we had the place to ourselves. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were so fresh and tasty. Plenty of tea/coffee & hot choc constantly refilled! The staff were friendly and really helpful with dietary requirements. It was really reasonable priced for the quality, quantity and amount of time we were there. We was given boxes to take home anything we couldn’t squeeze in. Brilliant venue and service would really...

Came here as it was en route to my destination, the reviews looked very promising; well let’s say that The Chunky Teapot did not disappoint. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile by Maisy who gave me a menu & advised me to come up to the counter when I was ready order. Now for the food, order what I usually would; Eggs Royale. Came really quickly & well presented. This is without a doubt the best Eggs Royale I’ve ever had. Poached to perfection, with a great half moon shape and tasty enough for a king. #ShoutOut2TheChef Reasonably priced food/drinks, clean, unique styling, very welcoming & friendly staff. Highly Recommended!
