This restaurant has been a go-to for our curry nights for a good 4 years now. We've only in the last few years been let down a couple of times, but tonight was a let down of a far greater magnitude. Ordered through Uber (which we have done many times) the curry was delivered by a nice gentleman, yet when he pulled the bag out of his Uber holdall, the curry was leaking everywhere due to the inept way it had been packaged by the restaurant. As you can see in the pictures attached, this affected the rest of our contents, to the point where it was not salvageable. I proceeded to call the restaurant, who were constantly trying to blame everyone else (the Uber driver and even me for ordering through Uber) for this mess apart from apologising and taking responsibility for the way they had packed this upright. They merely did not care that this had happened and just told me to order again and sort it through Uber. Probably good for a walk-in, but not dealing with them in takeaways again as they don't look after loyal customers. 2nd star is because the food has been good over the years regardless of the dreadfully rude staff.
UPDATE
"Care is taken with our packaging as failure to do so would mean a waste of our ingredients and loss of customer. Bags are double checked before handing over to delivery drivers. Therefore, it is clear the food was spoilt during transit." It WAS spilt in transit, BUT the reason it was spilt is because of the way it was packed.
And yet you CONTINUE to blame the driver. I guess you're suggesting that he stopped and decided to repack the bag, so that it would spill all over his Uber holdall and disappoint the customer. To proud to own up to...
Read moreI regret ordering from Jalsha Tandoori. From start to finish, it was an awful experience. The food arrived ice cold, which is unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one that specialises in Indian cuisine. I had high hopes, but the meal was a complete letdown. The poppadoms were a joke—soft and stale, tasting as though they’d been sitting around for days. They completely lacked the freshness and crunch that are essential for enjoyment. Now, let’s talk about the packaging, or lack thereof. The foil containers were shockingly poor quality. When I opened the bags, I was greeted by a disaster: the lids had caved in, and everything had spilled out. The curry leaked everywhere, contaminating the rice and poppadoms, making the entire meal unappetising. It was a messy chaos that looked like it had come from a bad takeaway experience, not a reputable restaurant.I spent £69 expecting a decent meal, and instead received an unappetising, chaotic disaster. This was my first and last experience with Jalsha Tandoori. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—save your money and find a restaurant that values quality and customer...
Read moreNot the best place I've been, food was pretty bland place was cold, and the service was a bit slow with servers leaning over you when serving !! Would I recommend it? BIG no tbh.
Update We ate in My meal consisted off Onion bhaji for starter (perfect) Lambchop (cheap poor quality all bone chops very greasy and bland) Garlick rice ( no garlic ! No seasoning greasy and very bland) Saag bhaji (no garlic ! No seasoning bland slop) Naan Peshawar (really good) Garlic naan ( plain nanny with butter herb and shake over dried garlic) So my meal consisted of Onion bhaji and a Peshawar naan that was acceptable. Oh the Irish coffee was shyte Not even real cream (they said single ) but I think foamed milk. Overall Poor quality ingredients and tasteless. I didn't want to complain as I was a guest of a customer that highly recommended this place. She commented that this was the worst experience she...
