We stopped off after visiting a local market nearby! We were surprised to see a small queue, when we asked what was happening someone told us it had just opened for the day. The pub felt welcoming and the dark wooden interior was nice, the pub is well kept and clean. They have lots of seating outside too, although weather was sunny it was a bit cold so we sat indoors. They also have a large conservatory where lots of families decided to eat in there. We only sampled their hot chocolates which tasted nice we ordered them again straight away! We viewed the Sunday menu and they had various roast dinner options including a vegetarian option, I think it was a nut roast. Most of the customers were regulars and appeared to be happy with the service and their food! We also noted that although their were some small children and dogs, all were very well behaved. We noted we were sat in an Adults only area which was good so we could converse without small ears nearby. Our experience was so relaxing we intend to revisit again...
Read moreI’ve never left a google review but after today’s awful experience I feel like I have to. Today we went to the pub for a family lunch with our 4 week old baby, the staff failed to tell us when they gave us our menus at 2:50pm that the kitchen closed at 3pm - so when we went to order food at 3:05 the staff told us the kitchen was closed and that we couldn’t order food or order food in. My husband then went back to the bar to complain to the manager who then came over to our table and accused us of verbally attacking her staff and shouting- which couldn’t have been any further from the truth… we had absolutely not done the former, my husband was even holding our little baby when he went to the bar to complain - the accusations of us shouting was totally made up. The whole experience was the most shocking thing I’ve ever witnessed in a pub or restaurant I felt so shocked we left in total disbelief. I really would not recommend visiting this pub after...
Read moreThis is a great pub for families, and dogs! It was full of people and furry companions on Sunday at 3pm, lots of happy tots running round while mum and dads were having wines and beers; loads of seating in various areas, looked unofficially like couples and folk there for a quieter time sat out front, while families sat in the conservatory and beer garden. Couldn’t see if the mini train was running. The food was super slow to come (30-40 minutes) but it was really notably delicious and around £17 for a main plate. The selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks was seriously impressive. The staff were very friendly, particularly the barmaid with the blonde shaved head and the waitress with the multicoloured hair! I would go back here but I wouldn’t take a date here as the family atmosphere definitely impacts on the ability to have a cosy or intimate conversation. But it’s a really great...
