Located on the back roads, a short walking distance from Forest Gate underground station. It’s on the corner of the road with a small outdoor seating and has short opening times. I was trying to find speciality coffee beans so came across this online, their beans are sourced wood street coffee an independent roasters in walthamstow. The prices are reasonable aswell you can grab a coffee for £3 and under. One of the things that bothered me was the amount of flies in this place I know they get attracted by the smells and the sweet sugar but the plastic pvc curtains is not doing it’s job properly and they need to look at other things to repel flies. On the other hand it’s a lovely little bakery that offers freshly baked bread, sandwiches , sweet treats and they also have a small brunch menu that they offer, no they are not halal unfortunately. They have a wide range of baking items such as alternative flours, selections of nuts and chocolates etc, They also offer many bake at home kits that you can do yourself or with the kids such as pizza kits, pain au chocolat and cookie etc. They do have alternative milk oat seems the poplar go to in the smaller independent coffee shops, no coconut milk. It was ok wasn’t too keen on the flavour of the coffee to be honest. However the highlight was the cinnamon swirly buns, I loved the flavour of these they were an absolute delight with the gooey cinnamon and caramelised sugar so soft I literally devoured it lolz.

Great little gem not too far from forest gate station. Wildgoose has a ton... A TON of bakery options (you'll be spoilt for choice). And they taste great! I'd highly recommend the almond croissant here as well as some of the cake slices. The service is great. The coffee is good and reasonably priced at about £3 per coffee. The only downfall is "sitting in" means you're sitting outside which is great in the summer but during winter days... I avoid it. They have a great option for frozen bakery to make at home. I haven't really tried the food beyond quiches and sandwiches (which are great). But they have a kitchen serving breakfast/brunch too Definitely worth checking it out if you're local or in the area.

Small but perfectly formed, Wild Goose Bakery's outpost at the Forest Gate Arches on Station Road is a utilitarian space made lovely by the baked goods & origami birds hanging from the ceiling. I had a spinach brioche with a decaf coffee early on a Saturday morning and both were delicious. Staff were friendly and as the space slowly filled up (mainly couples and parents with kids) they all found space inside or out on a bench amongst some communal green planting. A lovely addition to that stretch of cafes and bars, with some gorgeous-looking sweet treats I will be back to try out!

Love this place and the food and baked goods are truly stellar.

Would not recommend sitting in on a weekend morning when they’re busy though.

We unfortunately happened to visit on a day where everything seemed to go wrong which was unlucky and no one’s fault ( they got our order wrong, never brought our food etc).

Mistakes happen so no worries but I’m writing this as feedback to the owner, who is a lovely gentleman from South Africa.

The staff were clearly overwhelmed ( I’ve worked in hospitality so I understand the frustrations) but if things go wrong, the worst thing to do is do as little as possible to address it.

Both servers I dealt with today would benefit from customer service training.

They came off rude, brisk and annoyed (?) that I, a paying customer, was upset that the food I paid for hadn’t arrived and wasn’t coming.

Both servers did not say the words “sorry” once and were pretty apathetic. They did (very rightfully) refund the food when I pressed for it - but if I’m paying £25 for coffee and breakfast, subpar service can’t...

Have been before and usually a good experience, but today the service was pretty shocking and I don’t think I’ll be coming back for a while.

We ordered two food items, the first one of which was supposed to be chicken bunny chow but came out as a vegetarian dahl. Apparently the server misheard us - mistakes happen I guess and a new dish came out.

We wait 30 minutes to find that the server had apparently put through our second item but the order hadn’t printed(?) so the kitchen weren’t aware of it. The server tells us he can put it through now but it will be a further 45 minute wait because we’re now back of queue? What kind of service is this?!? Ridiculous for avocado toast to take this long to prepare regardless and for a mistake by the kitchen you’d expect them to try and rush it out asap, but apparently no.

Eventually managed to get a partial refund but this whole experience was frustrating and a waste of time. Really soured my opinion of a place I used to rate...
