Oh no it has gone down recently. Smash burger was it's forte few months ago before it was closed in January. Used to be optimum cooked Smash patte 6 to 7 months ago but now not only this branch but in almost all branches patte is way too overcooked and burnt especially at edges and patte thickness has also shrunk alongwith taste and richness.Patte needs to be marinated properly in salt and spices and should be fried light brown not dark black. Not impressed recently and may not go until they improve according to suggestions above. Old Reviews 6 months ago here::::::::::::: Ate Smash burger again today and was awesome as usual......Very underrated but worth the price. Now my highest are usually 4 stars that means other's 5 sometimes. Other day I tried Smash Green street and was let down with their burgers tbh. Having said that Buttermilk here should be bigger in size and lathered in deep fried butter coating, so they need to increase the meatiness and enrich flavours on that one.Still hot and fresh though. A smash burger wrapped in silver foil to keep it hot enough. Chips were very nice and soft. Some customers may be right in pointing out a bit of disappointment with high prices (and less serviettes or burgers overfilled with dripping sauces) given the burgers are a bit smallish especially buttermilk chicken burger but a bit of leeway they deserve probably for the quality and freshness they give. Go and try and you won't be disappointed. Way better than Smash burgers imo. out a bit of disappointment with high prices (and less serviettes or burgers overfilled with dripping sauces) given the burgers are a bit smallish especially buttermilk chicken burger but a bit of leeway they deserve probably for the quality and freshness they give. Read moreVisited a few weeks ago, here’s what I observed.
1 - Shop was dirty, things not stored properly behind the till.
2 - Was greeted with loud drill music and an empty till area. I called for someone to serve me to which someone turned down the music and came to the till. He was not dressed appropriately to be handling food, From memory he was in a tracksuit and the other worker in similar clothes. No hair nets just normal road-man clothes.
3 - I asked about the various items and was surprised to find out nothing is fresh. Their smash burger is a frozen patty. Same with their buttermilk chicken burger. Mad. How are they charging prices of shops selling quality burgers for frozen goods?
4 - The quality is poor. As I was in the shop, I decided to order. I ordered their big mac dupe, went in after 10 minutes to collect and was again greeted by drill music and unkempt looking staff. Food was dead too, so much fat in the burger you couldn’t taste any quality.
I would...
Read moreSo today I heard about the special opening offer from a friend for The Hungry Cow in Leytonstone. I had just been there not too long ago but in Canning Town (also a new shop) and really enjoyed the tower burger meal so I popped along to try the new shop out. Once again, compliment to whoever owns the place, the food was delicious. I ate my burger so quickly my mouth doesn't remember how it tastes. Service was great and I was in and out within 10 minutes. The food was piping hot and I got food for everyone at home. We all enjoyed it and I'm still full, hours later. I thought that since this is a new place I would write them a little review. Thank you for coming to Leytonstone. We had absolutely nowhere to eat until you guys arrived (Flavas is a no- no for me). I worry about the size of my belly now I only work and live down the road from you guys but hey ho. Life...
