The New Inn Ham Common — Restaurant in London

Generally very bad. First of all the tables and general area were very unclean, specks of leftover food, drops of drink and whatever else had accumulated. When we asked the server for a clean they took an old damp cloth and rubbed it over on one corner of the table cleaning nothing, overall his attitude was rather lazy, although I attribute that to lack of experience. Then after we were ready to order we asked for a goats cheese salad, salmon with potatoes, one burger with cheese, no onions, no tomatoes and no pickles and one burger with bacon, no onions and no tomatoes. When the food arrived the salmon and the salad were fine, no complaints about either of those, however the burgers were completely messed up, wrong toppings, both bacon and cheese on both, both had onion, etc etc. Completely messed up. As for the taste of said burgers it was awful, for 17.95 a piece the quality was terrible. The patty tasted like a soggy sponge, the bacon was rubbery, very little of the homemade sauce and overall poor quality condiments. The the prices were audacious to say the least. If they had been half that I could understand slightly haphazard presentation and lower quality, but at those prices it was outrageous. I popped into this pub at 1pm on Sunday on a cycle ride I asked for a guiness and a lager. A guy, clearly drunk, then said "say please" I ignored him as I am polite, and would have thanked the barmaid when paying. He then started threatening me, said "I had better go to the beer garden before I flatten someon" a gent from another table came over and ask him to stop. I should remind the manager it is illegal, not just good form, but illegal to serve drunk people. After I was served this guy, clearly drunk, was then served another pint, despite the barmaid witnessing what had happened. Disgusting. No doubt a "sorry your experience was not etc etc etc" reply to follow, if a reply...

Avoid this place! they charge you a service charge on your food! Its not table service and you have to get everything yourself. Normally that not a problem but I am not paying a service charge on food when I have to order at the Bar. I politely asked them to remove as this is discretionary and explained they do not provide a table service like a restaurant and should not be charged. They did refund my Money but the land lady was very rude about it and her arrogance was astounding! The food was ok, nothing special. Just average pub grub and there is nothing wrong with that.
