🚇 Upton Park 🍺 £4.50 Heineken ❤️ A unique no frills locals pub. . The Queens pub is located on Green Street in Upton Park which is on the border between East Ham and West Ham. Adjacent to the pub is bustling Queens Market, the home of the “£1 Fish man”. Getting here is easy, Upton Park Tube is literally next door. . More pubs have closed in Newham in the last 20 years than in any other borough in London. Since West Ham moved to The London Stadium in 2016 a further eight pubs have closed leaving the borough with around 50 pubs which is a travesty of biblical proportions. Thankfully The Queens survives to today. . The architecture of this pub is unique and is unlike any other pub in London. This a large two room pub which are joined by a narrow section at the bar. The decor here is classic estate pub with a long bar stretching the length of the pub. There are a couple of pool tables and TV’s showing live sport, there is also a dartboard if you fancy a game of arrows. . The beer line up here is simple and is full of familiar brands, I opted for a Heineken which was a decent pint and came in at a welcoming £4.50. The pub doesn’t do food but there are plenty of crisps and nuts. . I walked in here just after midday on a Friday, the pub was quiet with just me and a couple of other lads in attendance. I was served by Pam who was welcoming and personable, Pam has worked at this pub for years and knows the manor very well. . The Queens is proper down to earth locals pub that has managing to survive in unprecedented conditions. I loved my visit here as it reminded me of pubs I grew up in the 70’s & 80’s. It seems strange saying this but this is a heritage pub and original in many ways. This pub has to go on your must visit list for 2023. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 18/11/22

Tis what it is. Basic, unpretentious east London pub. Keg beers available but no cask that I can see. Good friendly bunch having a beer or two. Great lass behind the bar. All good fun.

This pub is a relic of Upton Park, a pub as familiar to the neighbourhood as the smell of curry from the nearby takeaway. Its walls were adorned with fading photographs of the neighborhood's past, its wooden bar worn smooth by countless rounds of pints.

Tonight was a typical night. The regulars were gathered around their usual tables, their voices a low hum that filled the air. There was Tommy, the retired dockworker with a heart of gold, and Mary, the landlady's daughter, always quick with a smile. And then there was Jack, the quiet stranger who'd been a fixture at the Queen's for the past few months. Jack was different from the other regulars. He was younger, his eyes held a haunted look that hinted at a past he was reluctant to share. Yet, he was drawn to the warmth and camaraderie of the pub. He found comfort in the familiar faces, the simple pleasures of conversation and a pint. As the night wore on, Jack found himself talking to Mary. She was a good listener, her eyes filled with a gentle understanding. He told her about his life, about the loss he'd suffered, about the loneliness that had haunted him. When he finished, Mary placed a comforting hand on his arm. "You're not alone, Jack," she said. "We're all here for you." Jack smiled, a flicker of hope in his eyes. He realized that in this ordinary pub, in the company of ordinary people, he had found something extraordinary: a sense...

Queens Pub offers a great value for those looking to enjoy a night out without breaking the bank. Compared to other pubs in the area, it stands out for its affordable drink prices and casual, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, and the pub’s cozy vibe makes it a perfect spot for both regulars and newcomers. While the decor might not be as upscale as some of the more expensive places nearby, the drinks are reasonably priced, and there’s a solid selection to choose from. Whether you’re just popping in for a quick pint or staying longer, Queens Pub is a great option for anyone looking to enjoy a night out without spending too much. It’s definitely a hidden gem if you’re budget-conscious but still want a good...
