TLDR: Great local spot right outside of the Uptown underground stop for a Desi breakfast and sweet Chai. (By the looks of it other things too!)
After what was a nightmare of a travel, I needed an escape from the airport to find some peace while waiting to check into my lodging. Little did know I was headed in the right direction and soon as I excited the Uptown underground stop I'd be running into the arms of Indian comfort food and greeted with a warm smile.
I arrived at around 8:20 and ordered a Karak chai and desi breakfast (total 12£/$15 -- 3£/9£ respectively). While I waited for my breakfast to be freshly prepared I enjoyed polite banter and reveled the sweet and savoury chai goodness that lifted me right out of sour mood. Perhaps normally a bit sweeter than I'd prefer, (and unable to be modified as it's batched) I'd order it again.
My breakfast arrived and I was invited to try the pink chai which I learned is pink because of kashmiri; this lends a subtle earthiness to it and was lovely! *Same notes regarding the chai as above.
Then there's the breakfast, I was swooning. The presentation was beautiful and I was excited to tuck in. Everything was delicious, well spiced, and the parathas were flaky and perfectly cooked. I especially enjoyed the marsala eggs. Because I prefer a little extra heat I asked for pepper. I was presented with their house pepper sauce which paired well with the beans and two green chillies 🙌🏾🙌🏾 which I promptly put into my eggs. I was full up before I knew it, as it is a generous portion for one. Value for price 5/5
What started fairly quiet, in the 90+ minutes I spent leisurely enjoying myself it started bustling. It's clear several are regulars and others, like me, poking their head in to see what the fuss is about. Regardless of the reason, everyone seems to leave satisfied (I'd say with a smile but we're still in London 😜)
Oh their downstairs area is SO cute and --while I couldn't figure out how to dry my hands-- the bathroom was spotless and smelled really nice.
10/10 would...
Read moreI recently visited Kaffiend Breakfast and Coffee House with my family, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, with immaculate decoration that exuded charm and coziness.
The best part? It's definitely a place for the whole family. Not only is the ambiance kids-friendly, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure our little ones felt right at home. They even had a dedicated play area, which kept the kids entertained while we enjoyed our meal.
Speaking of meals, the food was simply fantastic. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, and the flavors were out of this world. From hearty breakfast options to delicious coffee selections, there's something for everyone on the menu.
But what truly sets Kaffiend apart is the people. The staff here are not just friendly; they're genuine and passionate about what they do. Their dedication to providing top-notch service truly shines through, making every visit a memorable experience. In particular, I must commend the manager on the day, Sami. His excellent service and courteous demeanor added an extra touch of professionalism to our dining experience.
As for any previous negative reviews, I wouldn't pay them any mind. Kaffiend is a small and new business, and like any establishment, they're learning and improving every day. What matters most is the incredible potential and commitment to excellence that Kaffiend embodies.
Looking ahead, I do hope that Kaffiend considers introducing a world breakfast menu, perhaps including options like Turkish breakfast. It would be a wonderful addition that would further elevate the dining experience and attract even more patrons.
In summary, if you're looking for a place that offers great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service, look no further than Kaffiend Breakfast and Coffee House. Trust me, you won't be...

For reference, I went here one time before and wrote a negative review but then had a right mind (which was definitely the wrong mind) to delete this.
Anyway, I went again and thought it won’t be bad but it was worse than before. Now sadly KAFFIEND has gave me no other option but to express both of my experiences at this joke of a brunch place.
FIRST TIME: The first time I went, my son (who had every right to) ordered a matcha drink. The waiter (she had blonde hair and was Eastern European) commented and gave a dirty look, with a disapproving tone she said to him ‘ for you’. This doesn’t sound bad but if you heard the tone she said it in, it would most definitely be a problem. The brunch is very mediocre and like any brunch place nothing special. When we got our orders. The Eastern European server was looking at us and clearly speaking about us to the chef.
SECOND TIME: This time, we gladly didn’t have the rude waitress I mentioned in my first experience but my problem now is because of how long the service took, a whopping one hour for 3 people! Keep in mind there was only one group with us and the people downstairs only ordered drinks. 30 minutes in we were getting very annoyed and I kindly asked the chef how long. He said another 10 minutes and we had to wait 30 minutes more. I would expect to be having a five star burger for the amount of time I waited, but no. I got a burger with bones and a soggy patty.
To conclude, please don’t ever come here, there are many other brunch places to go like blooms cafe in Upton lane which has everything this cafe doesn’t have. So...
