I came to this pub with a pal of mine and we decided to get food. I’ve been for drinks before and was overall very impressed with the atmosphere as well as obviously the pristine selection of drinks available, so figured we may as well get some food, hoping for it to live up to its first impression in the previous visit. It really did. Corona on tap to begin with felt severely casual compared to the genuine beauty of the starters prepared for us, going for the crab, the chicken Liver Parfe and the beef tatare, which by the way for someone who is extremely delicate around raw food took me completely off guard and I ended up polishing half the plate off on my own. For main course the lamb and chicken were the dishes of choice, both impressing majorly in one of my favourite meals in recent memory. Servers Connor, Lorna and Catrin were extremely helpful, being prompt with food as well as being friendly, even offering to open/close the door if we felt the temperature was too hot or cold. Desert of the donuts and custard tart were a fitting way to end off an incredible meal, both not too filling and tasting frankly delightful. Obviously at this point it would be rude not to order a couple of cocktails, so multiple were drank and were all prepared neatly and tasted spectacular. I am not a gigantic tipper however they could have had my wallet for all I care. Overall, the atmosphere, drink selection, amazing food and great staff culminate in this pub being a tremendous hybrid between a lively pub and also an enjoyable intimate dining experience. Will be going again in the...

There was a time this pub felt like the beating heart of Queen’s Park. It wasn’t flashy, but it had soul. You’d walk in and see familiar faces, hear proper conversation, and enjoy a well-poured pint without paying over the odds. It was a space that brought people together, a mix of old regulars, creatives, young locals, and the odd passer-through who always ended up staying longer than planned.
Now it’s been refurbished into something unrecognisable. Polished, expensive, and oddly sterile. The kind of place that looks like it belongs in a lifestyle magazine but has none of the warmth or personality that made the original so special.
I walked by the other day and it was quiet. Empty tables, no buzz, no spark. A far cry from how it used to be, especially on weekends when you’d struggle to find a seat. It’s clear the change wasn’t for the community, it was for a new crowd that never really turned up.
They haven’t just redone a pub. They’ve erased a piece of the area’s identity. What’s left might be pretty, but it’s hollow....
Read moreWhile it seems like a good place to stop for drinks with friends, our family of six felt out of place and not welcome. There was not a kid friendly menu and the selections were unimpressive. Our server was not rude, just indifferent. While we were still eating the server attempted to take away our plates. When we asked that she please wait until were done eating, it seemed as though she was upset that we were there. Five minutes later she returned and attempted yet again to take away our plates while were still eating. Unfortunately we won't be back, even though my wife and I thought it would a good "date night" place. I should note that my wife used to come here years ago on a regular basis when she lived in the city. Apparently quite a bit has changed, and for the better, according...
