Went here for breakfast this morning for the first time. Ordered the ‘buttered’ sausage bap, but the bap was barely buttered. When I asked for some more butter I was told by the friendly waitress that the chef had told her I was not allowed any more than 1 tiny sachet of butter and if I wanted more I would have to pay for it. Given that the bap was advertised as buttery, and it arrived with very little butter on only one side of the bap, I felt that it was quite rude for the chef to refuse to give me more butter. It ruined what would otherwise have been a nice experience and sadly I won’t be returning.

Truly lovely little cafe in the middle of Wandsworth Common. Perfect if you just want a coffee to carry on your day, but if you're interested in food, though their offerings may look limited, they're all delicious! Having only tried a couple items, I can't say this with complete certainty, but will absolutely be coming back to put my money where my mouth is. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area, you won't regret it! Pictures posted are the Skylark breakfast and their current Pink Velvet Hot Chocolate, which my wife was very happy with.

We use this cafe quite regularly as a stopping point on a walk. I am delighted they have dairy free alternatives for drinks and they make an excellent hot chocolate. We also sometimes stop for lunch, last time having bacon butties and a gluten free bacon buttie and all were excellent and well enjoyed. They are reasonably priced for the area and the food is good quality. Always really pleased they have gluten free options listed on the menu too which makes ordering such a breeze.

Hello Skylark,

I am a local, who has been getting atleast two coffees here a week for a year and a half. I have never had a complaint before, and truly love the coffee and environment.

Today, I ordered a cow milk cappuccino to dine-in. After drinking about 1/3 I was noticing a slightly weird taste, and then noticed that when the sun hit it, the bubbles in the milk were shining rainbow coloured. Cows milk bubbles shouldnt shine rainbow.. which leads me to the impression that the mugs werent rinsed properly, and this was soap/dishwashing liquid..

I told the lead person in charge, and she almost refused to make me a new one. saying it was oat milk. it wasnt oat milk. she then knocked out all the bubbles in the cup, held it in the sun, and said.. look no rainbow. BECAUSE she knocked out all the bubbles. only after me standing my ground and strongly assuring her she was misunderstanding, she very reluctantly made me another cappuccino and made no apology.

This is a small issue, as its just £4 at the end of the day. But the management of this small issue has really frustrated me, especially as a loyal customer, and thought i'd share and get this off my chest.

Thank you for your (usually) brilliant coffe and...

I understand that the cafe has just had quite a major refurbishment and that costs must be at the forefront of the owners minds but a couple of things I saw today made me feel like profit was their main goal and it all just felt a bit stingy. The side salad for a £3 sausage roll was weighed out with the waitress putting in and taking out seeds to achieve the desired weight! I saw the same waitress effectively measuring the slice of cake she was cutting off and it's not like the prices are cheap. It also gives the impression staff have no autonomy. The final straw for me was that plastic cups were offered with the drinking water, I presume because it's easier / cheaper than washing lots of reusable ones. Not very environmentally friendly though. I just felt like there was a...

Really hit and miss, I've been 7 times (because its my local and I'm desperately hoping it will improve) 3 times were nice-friendly service, not waiting long and good food, 3 times were awful-forgot our order and we waited an hour for nothing/no smiles and manager having outbursts at staff/staff having NO IDEA what the V on the menu meant(she thought it meant vegan even though the dishes had cheese in) then suggested the vegan have egg on toast. One time it was 50/50-food was good but the service was unfriendly and the place was filthy, the tables are always sticky but this time there was food everywhere. Not sure if I will go again, i honestly wouldn't know what to expect (apart from sticky tables, that's guaranteed until they get them sanded and...
