Can't rate this restaurant high enough. Had the sea bass fillets with lemon and butter sauce and capers which was fantastic as always and my friend tried the burger and said she'd not had anything like that in years. Their mash potato is divine too!! Usually get the creamed spinach and French beans which is done beautifully. My oyster loving friend said the oysters were great quality. The calamari starter was also very good!!
Been again for my mums birthday in Dec 22 so more pics and my new review:
In the heart of Hatch End is The Steak Restaurant. It's one of my favourites! Definitely a 9.5/10 *!! . . On arrival, hot crusty bread & butter is served while you wait ... dangerous but so good. . . Prawn cocktail to start for me ... the salad has been deliciously dressed and a side of dipping or pouring cocktail sauce for your fresh prawns... delicious . . For mains, I couldn't resist my favourite, the seabass in a lemon butter sauce with capers. It comes with a side of broccoli, and I recommend the creamy mash potato as a side to absorb all that delicious sauce. . . From photos, you can see another prawn starter, which was very delicious too, and the pate I also tried was creamy and tasty with the onion marmalade . . The other mains ordered were the Serloin steak, lamb cutlets & lamb shank, which were all delicious (I'm lucky enough to have been able to try all)! . . Now I'm not a desert person. However, my friend had the Dom Pedro with kahlua. It looked like a milkshake in a chocolate swirl glass and was delicious! ... maybe try it with cointreau next time. Murrays apple pecan & cinnamon pie was melt in your mouth delicious, and the cinnamon flavour caramelised it ... wow!
Highly recommend this place

Read moreA really pleasant experience eating here. I have driven past here and eaten in many places nearby but never noticed this place before, but Im so glad we have discovered it. The food is very good, 500g thick cut sirloin cooked to absolute perfection (medium rare). As was my wifes and my daughters steaks, they had the thick cut rib eye meduim rare too, my son had the burger which he really enjoyed. Side dishes included triple cooked chips, mac & cheese, ceasre salad with big shavings of parmesan, all really well presented and very tasty. The starters where very good too, I had the prawn coctail, my son had the buffalo wings, soup and fish where also ordered and everyone enjoyed them. Quite a small restaurant in comparison to most, though still nice inside (traditional) clean, and with comfy seating and nicely set tables. Being a small resaurant I think is the trick to their success as the chefs are not overwhelmed with too many orders at once and manage to get it perfectly right. Our bill with food and a few rounds of soft drinks and one red wine came to around £250.00 with service charge included(£28 service charge). The service charge is optional, and though Im not one to agree with a service charge for a party of only four, but the food was exceptional and the service was very good and very attentive, so in my mind it was deserving. I would have left a generous tip in any case as we enjoyed it so much, so it made sense to pay the service charge. I would encourage anyone that enjoys their steak to give this...
Read morePlace came highly recommend from a friend. We decided to try it out because another restaurant we originally wanted to go was closed.
The staff are extremely friendly and take the time to give recommendations and offer their opinions when asked.
The restaurant itself has a beautiful atmosphere that leaves patrons very comfortable and at ease.
For the appetizers we got the Pacific tempura shrimp and chicken wings. The teriyaki chicken wings were perfectly sauced, although they weren't very crispy they were still enjoyable. The pacific shrimp tempura was perfect in every way. Amazing sauces, perfectly crispy with the best shrimp I've had in a while. We ordered two virgin cocktails, I got the passion fruit mojito, and I swear I could bring a whole gallon without getting tired of the taste.
We ordered a thick cut prime rib, which was the most tender piece of meat I've ever tasted. It had all the flavour that naturally comes with the prime rib, with the perfect amount of chew. They have perfected their steaks.
We also order the Wagyu burger. It looked amazing, very soft and tender, unfortunately from a flavour standpoint it didn't wow me like the rest of the dishes.
Overall this place, although a tad pricey ( £100 for two) is definitely worth going to once in a while for a fancy evening.
Finally with the bill, I wanted to give an additional tip because of the fantastic service, only to notice that it was already included. It's a shame because I would have given them more than what was included...
