As an Irish person living in London for the last 5 years, I've been to pretty much all of the notable Irish bars in the city. I tried Tir na Nog for the first time recently and have to say that it disappointed. The decor might be described having a "traditional Irish theme", but I don't know many bars at home that would have cobwebs, a grubby fish tank, mismatched chairs with holes in them, dirty puppets and random tatty items stuck to the ceiling (cherubs?? - very Irish). I think that is the look they are going for but the place just looks like it needs a good clean. The Australian lady serving obviously knew her regulars, because she didn't stop talking to them the entire time she was pulling my pint. I felt like we were a distraction from the social side of her job. Not exactly the friendly, my home is your home feel that other Irish bars in the city give you. The pints of lager were also flat. In the past, I've travelled an hour by public transport to get to a good Irish pub on the other side of the city and this one is only 20 minutes away but I wouldn't...
Read moreIf you're looking for a relaxed Irish pub with great vibes, this place is a hidden gem. The drinks are spot on – well-poured pints, a solid selection, and prices that won’t make your wallet cry. It’s the kind of spot where you can actually unwind, have a chat, and not feel rushed.

Fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The chef is always friendly and welcoming, and you can tell he takes pride in his food. Best part? The prices are unbeatable. You’d struggle to find better quality for less anywhere else.
All in all, it’s the kind of place you come back to again and again – for the drinks, the atmosphere, and especially the food. Highly...

If your drinks are less than £10 and you show your card, the barmaid Marie, cleverly asks you if you want "cash back". When you say no you will not get any change back from the £10 payment even if you are owed £3-4. Apparently they have a £1 charge to cover "bank costs" for the use of a debit card but couldn't be bothered to tell customers this and are happy to take as much money off you as possible. Doesn't matter if you buy one drink or three, it will cost you £10 if you don't get your "cash back". There's nothing Irish about this pub except the s**t music she plays. The toilets are a scandal too....
