By far the best Cafe I have gone to here in the UK.

The Village Cafe has a nice family atmosphere where you feel like home and where everyone is trying to make you feel comfortable.

The staff was super friendly and most importantly, the food was tasty, nothing was overcooked or undercooked, it was just on the spot.

There is a very soft playlist of songs in the background so you don't really pay too much attention to it which is great and it allows you to talk with others.

The area around The Village Cafe is quite nice as well and they have outdoor seating if you'd like to sit outside to enjoy the weather.

100% recommended and I will come back to try other foods/drinks as what I had satisfied me and it felt light on the stomach as I had no heartburn or anything...

Tea just awful, sorry. Occasional past visitor, but around 10 visits recently at different times. Maybe real tea leaves or a pot of teabags squeezed to death to leave a surface layer in the cup to walk on. I take it black. Also luke warm initially, then cold when food is brought by sometimes sullen staff. (I order and pay at the counter.) Milky tea must be like a shake but would hide the terrible taste. Good customer base so it obviously works for them. I'm not local.

Food - eggs, bacon toast better than average. Costs very fair.

Generally nice enough people.

Uncomfortable tables for me where you can't cross your legs under most of them, but you adjust.

4 stars if they could serve...

We are a a smallish group of cyclists who spend Wednesdays in cheerful company stopping for morning coffee and lunch. This café has been one of our favoured stops. Like us, nothing fancy, with the occasional quirky option, not super -fast but reliable and prompt. Not today. It took up to an hour for very run of the mill food orders. We were criticised for not accepting orders we hadn’t placed. My lunch arrived so late that my tea would have been stone cold if I hadn’t already finished it. No apology. No offer of a free tea or coffee next time. Maybe there shouldn’t be a next time and when we’re in the area we stick with the café at Pen Ponds in...

This place is just incredible and highly recommended for anybody. The food was homey and left a warm happy feeling in your tummy. Ordered an omelette with mushroom, cheese and tomato with a side of beans and chips. This meal was phenomenal! You could taste that is was made with a lot of love. Loads of flavor and it was hot and fluffy and just perfect. We also ordered a apple pie that came with home made custard. Once again it was delicious! The portions were very big too, well for myself and team. The staff were friendly and helpful and very efficient. If you have not been yet and love home-like food, this is definitely the place for you!

I live just around the corner, pass in front every day and always people inside but never had the time to actually come in. I had time this morning so I decided to give it a go. I had a vegetarian omelette with a tea, I asked if possible to take out the peppers because of my allergies. The place is really warm and welcoming, the food was a perfect marriage between Colours and flavours on the plate. Unfortunately I don’t put 5 starts because I made the stupid decision to sit down underneath the plant and 2 spiders fell in my food. But either than that it was a really good experience will come back.
