I visited The Tunnel Shisha Lounge with a friend for the first time and, unfortunately, it was not a good experience.
When we arrived, we were told there’s no sit-down service and that we had to order/pay at the bar in advance, which is very unusual for a sheesha lounge, but we didn’t think much of it at the time. Next, it then took almost 15 minutes just to pay by card because the machine wasn’t working. We were asked to transfer the money instead, and when we did, my bank flagged the payment as suspicious — which didn’t give a great first impression.
The drinks were disappointing. I ordered a mint tea, which tasted like it had been made with a basic teabag rather than fresh mint, and honestly even supermarket mint tea would have been better.
The shisha itself (I had pan & mint) tasted nice, but it took a long time to arrive. In the two hours we stayed, NO ONE came over to check on the shisha or change the coals, which is very unusual and lazy for a lounge. The overall quality wasn’t the best, it was extremely harsh, though the flavour itself was pleasant.
The venue was also not very clean. The tables hadn’t been wiped properly and the seats were filthy when we sat down. The whole place has a tunnel-like feel (true to its name). Walking in, you pass by little rooms, the kitchen, the storeroom, bins — none of which looked particularly clean or inviting. I honestly do not believe this place could have passed a proper hygiene check.
The service left a lot to be desired. Staff weren’t welcoming or friendly, and when I asked for tap water, I was told they don’t provide it and I’d have to buy bottled water. I even joked with the barman, asking, “What if someone fainted or wasn’t well, would you still refuse to give tap water?” and in a serious voice, he replied “Yes.” This is not only shocking but also against the law in the UK, as licensed venues are required to provide free tap water on request. We also tried to order food around 10:30pm, but were told the kitchen closed at 10pm.
Overall, I would not recommend this place. The service was terrible, the atmosphere was lacking, and the cleanliness was unacceptable. The only positive was that the shisha flavour itself tasted nice, but the quality of it and the experience as a whole did not match. I visit many shisha lounges and I would highly suggest you avoid this one at all costs. It’s a complete waste of money. Furthermore, I also believe that the reason they insist you pay upfront, is because they know many people would be refusing to pay after experiencing something this diabolical. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews.
This is my first ever review on Google, but I felt it necessary, because I’ve never had such an awful experience in a sheesha...
Read moreI have been to a lot of shisha cafés in and out of London and have exhausted my lungs from flavours ranging from double apple to coffee flavour. I have to say Moiety is my most favourite. Situated between West harrow and North Harrow is a shisha cafe most people have never heard of or seen. The front of the shop is decieving as you don't know what to expect as the shisha garden is at the back. You walk in confused as to where you are but are greeted by someone who will lead you to the garden and when you walk out you think wooow where did this come from. The garden probably seats around 100 people and is covered with screens showing Sky Sports and all the major sports. The decor is nicely designed with warm heaters and comfortable seating. I ordered a double apple and couple of mint teas for me and my Mrs. The flavour was beautiful and the shisha was very well made. The staff were really friendly and made me and the Mrs feel at home. It felt like we were smoking shisha at one of our own friends house. The music was a bit loud but they turned it down once we asked and to top it off we were given a hot water bottle each. I would definatly recommend Moiety to anyone as it is the perfect place to unwind and try a shisha cafe without the ridiculous prices for below average flavour and dingy...
Read moreThis was a very dirty lounge, messy and could not sit there for long as it was that cold and dirty. Also they have cats, which they could have mentioned beforehand or on the website, we had allergies. On the side note, people bring their dogs inside this shisha lounge whilst walking through the kitchen area and it was dirty throughout. Which is shocking when the kitchen door is wide open and they are serving food, granted it is from a dirty kitchen, not very hygienic in the slightest. I am sure of that, we saw rat droppings maybe that is why they have a cat there. It was very messy and I am surprised they have any hygiene food rating here. I will report this place to the council. The shisha guy was rude and expected us to pay first rather than after seems a bit shifty and would not recommend it to anyone unless you want to get unwell. The seats were dirty and unbearable to sit down anywhere.
On a side note the number does not work and if you call they just say that they cant pass the phone to the shisha lounge. The staff on the phone are rude and do not understand basic English. AVOID...
