Well 'Corbaci' means soup seller in Turkish. I visited the place for the first time today. I and my son asked for a menu to order. Unfortunately the waiter said as a "consept" they do not have a menu. Funny but its ok..Then, I asked what can we have and we were advised to have some soup and main dishes. Before I can say that soup and main dish would be too much he recommended "az corba" meaning half a portion of soup and then the main dish. why not? We ordered karniyarik(aubergine stuffed with mince meat) and incik kebabi(lamb shank). We were served two small cup of soups and then main dishes. Soups were good as you would expect from a 'Corbaci' however karniyarik was not very good. dried mince meat and uncooked aubergine. no flavour.. and as to Incik that was not an incik but some sort of 'Tas kebabi'. basically a different dish. I tasted from my son's plate it was ok.. I was asked if I wanted rice and I said no. He said both dishes come with rice but if you are not going to eat it no point wasting it. so we said no to rice.. we had a bottle of water on the table which we did not ask for. We were charged 4.50 for this water. I could have had a soft drink or a beer instead. If you put water on my table without me asking for it, it should be free.. Soup, I meant half soups were 7.50 each. too much I am thinking does that mean the full cup soup is 15 pound?!! As to dishes we were charged full price despite not having rice. He could have explained that actually. What if I wanted a doggy bag... Anyway each dish was priced 13.50 No menu. no way of knowing the pricing and It would be too rude to ask the price of every single dish. especially if you are with your family. I was charged 46.50 and I left 50 but I do not think that i will be going there again....

Read moreCame in at 1am on a Friday night with no idea what to expect. I was served an absolute feast of lamb shank, potatoes, veg, rice, beans, hummus, salad and warm bread for a banging £12.50 with a complimentary tea to follow up.
A very fair price for a good sized portion. Lovely music and atmosphere too.
I saw some reviews complaining about a lack of menu, but I feel like this is one of those places where if you ask what they have, the answer would be “Food. You eat it.”
So if you are open to trying something new, you can trust that whatever food they have will be delicious and in large quantity. For £12.50 you won’t find a better meal on Green Lanes.
Or you know, go to one of the nearby kebab places and pay £18 for a kebab wrap with a few pieces of meat in with chilli and garlic sauce dripping onto your fingers. I know which...
