Very rude staff and very bad service! Absolutely terrible experience at Vero Cafe! We went last Monday and after our food was brought to our table, the waitress returned to the table to grab a bunch of sugar sachets from my 1.5 year old sonâs hand. She said she had to take them away in the most rude, insensitive manner. After I asked why, her âmanagerâ/the tall guy who stands in the front usually, shouted (with his back turned to us as he was cleaning a table): Take them all off!!! in a commanding voice. The waitress proceeded to tell me that my son was throwing them on the floor, even though I was instantly picking them up and he was playing very quietly. Not wanting to argue, we let them take the sachets. After we finished our food (overpriced tasteless salads), I asked the âmanagerâ at the door as to what that behaviour was all about. He proceeded to tell me that if he takes into account all the children that visit in a day (about 30 that day he said), then all the sugar sachets would be ruined!!! He pointed to the children in other tables from whom he had taken sugar away from. Very rude, insensitive people! For the price of a few sachets of sugar you ruined our experience. Not going back there! Totally unfriendly...
Read moreItâs such a shame that one member of staff was extremely rude. A friend had wanted to take me to this place for a coffee but we arrived about 10 minutes before closing. The first staff member we spoke to was a polite young man who was welcoming and kind. He let us know they would be closing at 5 p.m., but suggested we could grab takeaway coffee and still sit outside, which we appreciated.
However, immediately after, a female staff member approached us and abruptly said, âWe are closing, do you understand that??â in a sassy, impolite, and unnecessarily rude manner. I fully understand and respect business hours, but the way she spoke to us was completely uncalled for and left a very negative impression. We will never go back there! We will never return. After this unpleasant encounter, we simply crossed the road to a lovely cafĂ© opposite theirs Philippe Conticini, where we enjoyed great coffee, warm hospitality, and excellent service. The contrast could not have been...
Read moreCame here on a Tuesday morning with my baby and met two other Mums with their small baby/toddler. I got the impression that we were not welcome as I asked where I should sit as we would be 3 with baby buggies. They directed me to a table but as soon as the other Mums arrived they made a fuss about there not being room for the buggies and actually made one of the mums leave the buggy outside saying they would soon fill up. Again, this was a weekday morning and not even at lunchtime. It just was not a pleasant atmosphere for Mums with babies. Also the wait staff just weren't friendly, they did not smile or anything when they served us. The food and drink was ok, nothing special just typical cafe food, but I read not a pleasant atmosphere with a baby so I don't think I'll be back any time soon. Keep in mind if thinking of coming here with...
