I recently had the misfortune of visiting Vinos y Licores, and I must say, it was an experience I won't soon forget. It's not often that a bar manages to combine strange service, audacious pricing tactics, and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction, but Vinos y Licores somehow managed to accomplish this with remarkable finesse.
Let's start with the perplexing decision to charge a service fee at the bar. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of a service fee to compensate staff for table service? Last time I checked, standing in line and ordering drinks at the bar didn't require the same level of effort as attentive table service. It was mind-boggling to witness the audacity of Vinos y Licores in charging their patrons an extra fee for the "privilege" of ordering directly from the bar.
Perhaps this fee was to cover for time lost vaping and chatting between the bar staff. They seemed disinterested and apathetic, barely acknowledging our presence, let alone offering any form of genuine hospitality. It was as if we were inconveniences disrupting their evening rather than paying customers deserving of respect.
But the unpleasant surprises didn't end there. When it came time to split the bill, we were subjected to an entirely new level of financial exploitation. Not content with merely adding a service charge to the whole table tab (which we wouldn't have minded normally), Vinos y Licores saw fit to double dip into our wallets by charging an additional service charge when splitting the bill. The sheer gall of such a tactic left us dumbfounded and infuriated. It felt like a deliberate attempt to squeeze every last penny out of unsuspecting customers.
The cherry on top of this disastrous evening was the final blow to our wallets. The exorbitant prices for drinks left us feeling utterly robbed. Now, I understand that bars often charge a premium, but the combination of outrageous pricing, unnecessary service charges, and double dipping on table service fees made it painfully clear that Vinos y Licores was more interested in profiting from unsuspecting customers than providing a pleasant experience.
In conclusion, I implore you to avoid Vinos y Licores at all costs. Their exploitative pricing tactics, coupled with lackluster bar service, create an environment that is anything but enjoyable. There are countless other establishments in the area that prioritize customer satisfaction and fair pricing. Spare yourself the frustration and disappointment by steering clear of this money-grabbing...
Read moreYou need to be very careful when paying your bill here as they will try and rip you off. I’ve experienced this first hand twice with a group of friends and after speaking about our experience, have heard dozen of others have experienced the same thing. The staff tried to charge us all service on top of our bill that we paid for separately, even after we asked to pay a specific amount. It seems as though they were just adding on extra money to each of our bills, even though it was just drinks we had ordered from the bar. When I went in to buy three drinks, they tried to charge me an extortionate amount, and when I questioned them, they got flustered and apologised as they must’ve ‘put in the wrong amount’. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely bar in a great location, just unfortunately have had a few bad experiences with being overcharged, and it seems as though they know what they are doing. They also seem to have charged us all slightly extra for each drink that it says...
Read moreStaff are rude and and entitled. Completely ripped off our drinks by adding a ridiculous tip on 2 drinks and then argued with us when we asked to see the receipt.
Second time I went there (being local), it happened again and we asked them to add the bill amount into the card machine and they just added an extra amount onto and tried not to show us the card machine. Asked for our money back and to pay what was on the bill and they were very rude and pretended that they lost the receipt.
Asked a group of friends that went there this week if they had any issues and turns out they had the same issue of being ripped off on unheard of tips for a couple of drinks bought at the bar and very rude staff.
This has now happened to many of my friends and also other people that live near by.
We will be passing on this message and not recommending this place to people.
Such a shame as it really is a nice opportunity to be a...
