Wah Ping — Restaurant in London

This restaurant could be so much better but let down by the very unwelcoming atmosphere and the staff that show they are not interested in the restaurant . I was coming back from shopping at Curry’s and thought I would try this restaurant as managed to find a parking space in the road outside . Then entered the restaurant to see all of three tables scattered around the restaurant and a table of six but thought this restaurant was so cold inside . Then another restaurant customer piped up and said do not sit there as you are sitting right under one of the air conditioning units and was really cold air blowing out . So then moved to the back of the restaurant as thought this would be less cold only to find not the case and on looking around could see no radiators in sight so had to keep my coat on all the way through the meal .Then order starters they were fine which was chicken satay and prawn toast but the main meal we ordered came out after 5 minutes of ordering and was very bland which was prawn Schwane with was covered in lots of black chili skin all through the dish and was really BLAND. Then next thing the mature woman waitress puts the air conditioning on again just above our table and I have to ask for this to be turned off and notice the background music has disappeared too . The sad part is this restaurant could be so much better if the staff really looked like they wanted to work there but really show not much interest and stay away from the restaurant and hang around the takeaway section area as want very little communication with...

ruined my 40th birthday. absolutely appalling service we left the restaurant after 2 hours with no food and how to get food from across the road at takeaway. the staff provided no explanation on why they felt that they could not run a whole restaurant. they prioritised the takeaways for deliveries more than the restaurant one member of the public was waiting 2 hours for their delivery when I asked how long it would be they hadn't even started their order.

so we booked the table for four people last night we arrived for 8:00 a table is booked we came in we sat down 40 minutes later we got offered to take our drinks order.we had keep asking if we could have our order taken for our food we eventually ordered our food starters and mains after going to the bar to speak to the host an hour and 40 minutes in still waiting on starter it got to 9.45 and still no food we asked where our food was and how long they said reply it coming when it wasnt. in the end we got the bill for our drinks as it was 10pm. the service was absolutely shocking appalling with no explanation I don't recommend this restaurant. and I have eaten here previously with no experiences like this before the staff very useless.

We tried this first as a takeaway and were SO impressed with the quality of food we received, we were instantly going to order again but were even more excited to find they also were a restaurant.

The in house food is stunning. I am one who is more than happy to have gaps between courses…I would rather wait longer for food knowing it’s been freshly cooked than it comes out at the snap of a finger. This was the case here and I would gladly wait an hour for food here if I had to. The rice was fresh, tasty, my tofu was crisp but fluffy, sauce SO flavourful…my partner had been rib which melted in the mouth and fell off the bone.

Staff are wonderful. No faults. So friendly very attentive ☺️

As one with ASD, the atmosphere here is perfect. The restaurant is a great size, music a perfect volume and not too many tables means I did not get any type of sensory overload. I do not expect places to suit only me but it’s lovely when I walk in somewhere and am totally at ease.
