Stayed here for a couple of nights The young woman who owns/runs the place was very welcoming and keen to make sure all is ok. Apparently these are the new owners from reading other reviews. Room was very clean and the shower was hot and powerful. Room was tidied/cleaned every day. Breakfast was good, cereal and juice then a cooked breakfast. Breakfast finishes at 8.30 as I assume because not being a big hotel they want to get on with other jobs. Great garden at the back where you can eat your breakfast or unwind later with a beer. Its not a big hotel so it a key for the room door and front door rather than cards. Parking outside. Tesco Express over the road if you've forgotten essentials. This is near the centre of Romford so there will be some traffic noise. Room was a bit hot but we were in the middle of a heatwave and as we were on the ground floor the windows only open a certain ammount presumably for security. My only real grumble was the coffee at breakfast was instant shachets so maybe some fresh coffee would be nice? But if you're a tea drinker you'll be fine. Overall a good basic...
Read moreI have never written a review before but feel compelled to do so. Please note the photos Do not reflect the terrible state of this hotel. On arrival there were 3 people smoking outside. Inside smells of cigarettes and fried food. The room small, very basic, no bedside cabinet, lamp, mirror etc. The carpet had so much in ground dirt I used my shoes even in my night dress. Toilet seat damaged with piece missing, brown and high infection risk. Grime around the shower base. TV remote is given and has to be returned on checkout. I had to clean it with wipes to see the buttons - truly. The TV reception is very bad and you can only watch TV intermittently. The view from my window was like a tip, bins, rubbish etc. Windows rattled from road noise and made my door rattle all night. I did not want to get Into bed but had no choice. Linen looked clean but smells stale. Pillows are like cardboard and my skin crawled all night. Breakfast was welcome relief from a lovely lady and well cooked. Thankfully all the workmen had left I think. Think carefully before you book this dirty...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at this hotel during a recent trip to London. It was a wonderful hotel with great customer service. The hotel is family run and they are very friendly and accommodating. They even did laundry for us for a nominal charge (we were there for 5 days). It is about a 10 minute walk through town to the train station which has a direct train to London. The town of Romford itself is quaint and the people were friendly. We ate at a couple of the local pubs and used the post office to exchange currency. The town also had an open market in the square where we could get fresh fruit and snacks for the day. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and typically held us until dinner time with a snack around lunch. I feel like we were very fortunate to find this little jewel of a hotel. The rooms were clean and neat with...
