Waite & Rose Café — Restaurant in London

waitrose south woodford; except for Oksana and a caribbean lady staff whom are both exceptionally friendly and helpful... the rest of staff is rubbish, short tempered, uncoping.

i started shopping there for 3-4 yrs only for the reason of encouragements given to customers.

firstly; free coffees. later cup size was reduced by 25%. then asking you to shop first before coffee. then banning it from their cafeterias. then you have to bring your own cup. later asking where is your lid. now they want to see the receipt! why don't you just remove the machines.

secondly; they used to reduce to clear products to 30% end of the day. which is a good way to encourage customers shop at their overpriced store and an opportunity to try their products. since introducing "Partners". you find partners bargain hunt these items for themselves! excuses they use; ...leave it on the shelf for us to reduce it... we don't reduce it if it is in your basket... it will only be reduced last 5 seconds before we close ... we don't reduce on demand... the truth is ; the manager fancy it ... we like to have it for ourselves... we want you to pay full price so we get the commission... we are the power for waitrose... you are only the customer... we are the loyals ... it's not about your loyalty... etc. etc...

I used to feel these items would compensate for the final price of my basket. but now I am back to my sainsbury and leave the bargains to the "Partners". I can buy fresh produce same price as their reduce to clear without worrying about the expiration date and fill up the rest of my shopping too....

Beautiful waitrose with a great selection of food and a terrific cafe.

Only downside is if your a member of BAME community, you will end up being followed by one of the security personnel. Honestly, they are pretty obvious about it. Although, the last time this week was a bit better at it. My child attends a nearby school, so sometimes I will pop in for a shop and a coffee. Each time, I am followed by one of the security members. Last time, I honestly felt like going up to the guy and say here are my credit cards, I have a lot of money to pay for all these items.

Honestly, I don't have this problem at the canary wharf waitrose or South Kensington one. I just wanna grab my sushi, some lovely fruit and appetisers and lovely duck eggs. And than sit and enjoy my lovely cup of coffee served by the 2 wonderful ladies...

Was happy with the store until I placed an online order for groceries, and received everything with a best by date of 1/2 a day to 2 days. I truly believe that they are taking the mickey and fobbed off everything they didn't sell. My delivery was last night:(

My last orders from them were only long shelf life products, nothing short term, which was fine. As everything was for our newborns, we have no chance to use them within 24 hours.

Shame on them, Tesco and Co-op value their customers and use some common sense when picking items. Getting their garbage and being charged full price for the privilege is not acceptable.
