we went here for an evening meal. I was able to take my dog with me to save him whinning at home. My friend had the burgers after a starter of chilli prawns and nachos. Both my husband and i picked items which were sold out earlier, namely sea bass and cumberland sausages. So we had to settle for haddock and chips and chargilled chicken salad. The fish was excellent, the batter really crispy. The salad was nice but the chargrilled chicken was a bit dry, but there was a willing participant under the table who thought it better than the applaws i had bought for him. A band started playing at 21.00. Songs i actually recognised from my school days. Too noisey for the husband, he was straight out the door. Overall an enjoyable evening.

Been to Woodies several times to watch Ransom, including when having my 50th birthday celebrations there. It's always a lovely venue with a good crowd and atmosphere. Plenty of room to suit whether you want to watch the band close up, sit a bit further back but still watch, or sit in the quieter areas and chat. Bar staff and waiters are friendly and helpful and friends who have eaten there have always said they enjoyed the food. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely lively local pub, right next to the playing field so very green and peaceful. It has a nice selection of beers and ales with a typical pub food menu which is very reasonably priced. Indoors they have TV screens for sport and there is a car park as well if you need it. Its a place with a lot of character and the atmosphere is very friendly. Great pub.

Sunday Roast Review.... Before i get into the roast we had, Woodies is a great place, great atmosphere and welcoming warm pub... the day food menu is lovely and good value. tried their house lager yesterday which was crisp and had good flavour.

Yesterday we went in for a Sunday roast (we review local ones) at £14.95 it is at the high end of prices locally so we were expecting a real feast.

Sadly it did not deliver at all.... thin slices of beef looked like pre cooked packaged fodder with zero taste, roast potatoes were fine (but not great) Yorkshire was of the frozen variety and the veg was all undercooked (I couldn't even cut my carrots) overall a fairly dull forgettable roast dinner.

They did take one off the bill which was very generous, but overall its a 4.5/10 wouldn't recommend (3 of us had the same meal and all 3 were the same so we did have comparisons) no cauliflower cheese, no extra gravy, if it were a £7.99 roast I wouldn't complain but £15 was a lot to pay for what we got.

I think they need to focus on the roast on a Sunday and don't offer other dishes (however my son was very happy with his fish n chips, which i've had before and is amazing)

This food did not reflect the general niceness of woodies. definitely go there maybe avoid...

I was a lover of the infamous Woodies .....not a regular , but enough to know peoples names . The bar staff used to be Michael , John and Will . A change of job for Will then brought along Denise , still a very good trio behind the bar . Now unfortunately John , Michael have left which leaves Denise with extremely unprofessional people to work with, she still has a smile for customers , but an awful lot to do on her own ... The new staff are not the type of people you expect to see in an establishment like Woodies . I cannot begin to understand why Linda (manageress) would even think that they are .. Once standards start to drop they are extremely hard to get back ......... Woodies has now in my opinion , fallen into the trap of anyone will do as far as staff is concerned . It's bigger now and the staff should be employed for their experience and not the sympathy card .. I haven't even begun to write about the food staff ........they are young , which is not a crime but the lack of leadership astounds me .....eating while serving food , no conception of basic customer service skills ...................... All that said the memory's of a good Woodies is simply just that a...

I went here for dinner last night and was very pleasantly surprised. The menu was simple but as the chef was walking past I spoke to him and asked about the menu. Everything was home made by him, he had just finished making some pizza dough so I asked for a spicy pizza, he made me one with pepperoni, fresh chargrilled chicken breast and jalapenos. He definitely had plenty of other toppings to offer. He also made me a green side salad. The pizza was excellent and definitely home made as it was not perfectly round, the toppings were generous and extremely tasty, I would definitely recommend it. The side salad was also fresh and tasty. When he came by next time i asked about the other things on the menu, the fish and chips had home made batter and I will have that next time I go with my wife. There was a good choice of ales and this weekend there is a band playing and the following weekend a beer festival, a proper hive of activity in New Malden!! The meal was great value too so it is going to become a regular haunt of my wife and...
