Hidden gem! Every dish from Yida was beautifully prepared and fresh. High quality sushi, sashimi and cooked dishes like tempura and agedashi tofu to name a few. There's a cute outdoor area which is nice to get some air in summer. Service is delightful and for Japanese cuisine which requires sushi grade fish and seafood, prices are very reasonable. Photos don't really do the food justice and because we were too busy tucking in, key dishes have not been captured...

Worst Japanese restaurant ever. All the raw fish looked unfresh and we were worried that we would get food poisoning. The sashimi was not cut properly that when you took one, others came together and fell off the plate. The sushi rolls looked worse than homemade and definitely were not made by professional chef. I suspect all the high ratings are paid ratings.

Went for a Saturday night dinner for 3 at about 8pm. Not too busy and plenty of take away orders. This will from now on be my local go-to Japanese place. Good selection of nigiri, sashimi and rolls, well presented and good flavour combinations. The grilled eggplant was gorgeous, truffled beef decadent and Asahi on tap. If only the portions were bigger!

I've had takeaway from Yida Sushi 4 times now, and have also eaten in the restaurant itself 3 times. Every experience has been perfect! I'm a big Sushi fan, and I have been to dozens of places in London, both good and bad. this place is one of the GREAT ones! Staff are super friendly and helpful and also knowledgeable about the menu (try the chefs special, by the way, i've never had anything like it- even in Japan!). It's not the cheapest place in London, but cheap sushi is bad sushi, that's a fact. I live in the N5 area, and I constantly struggle to find decent takeaways, there is so much crap out there. So glad that we finally have something reliable and delicious on the doorstep. Crunchy Tuna is fantastic, Dragon Rolls are fantastic, tempura is great. Can't really think of anything...

Visited on a quiet Sunday evening with my wife. We ordered the 15-piece sashimi platter, seaweed salad, octopus sashimi, sweet prawn sashimi, and some nigiri.

Unfortunately, the freshness was a major issue. While the salmon and white fish from the platter tasted fine, several of the red fish pieces had a mushy texture. The octopus and sweet prawn sashimi were even worse - the octopus was rubbery and seemed waterlogged, like it had been sitting in liquid too long. The sweet prawn was completely flavourless and mushy.

We both ended up with upset stomachs that night and barely slept.

For a sushi place, freshness is everything. When you’re serving raw fish and it’s not fresh, that’s a serious problem. We won’t...

I’m a regular at this friendly local restaurant which has a great selection of sushi, hot dishes and starters (if you come here for nothing else the Aubergine - Nasu gomi - will change your life.

Usually fairly busy even in the week but it has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming.

A stones throw from Highbury & Islington station and just up from some very expensive places this is refreshingly good value.

Book ahead if going at peak times but usually fine for a walk in. They also do takeout and delivery which is always very thoughtfully prepared and they are happy to oblige with extras...
