Jaslicking Seafood Boil, Kent — Restaurant in Maidstone

The food here is so flavoursome! We absolutely loved getting stuck into the seafood with all the tools and gloves and bibs. There’s a really nice mixture of seafood/sausage and corn and potatoes so it’s a well rounded meal. We had a queen bowl between two of us, we probably could have eaten just a little more but it is a really decent portion. There aren’t a lot of side options so maybe some better sides would help to complete everything. The food blew us away but the service let us down a bit. We were a group of 8 so I appreciate that it’s a big table but there was only ever one other table of 2 in at the same time as us. It took forever for us to get drinks and a lot of them just didn’t come out so we had to keep asking. There was also ads playing in between the playlist which was awkward! The restaurant is really quite basic, there’s not a lot of colour or design to it but the food is amazing so I would definitely recommend it! This restaurant had not long moved to these new premises from nearby apparently so still needed a lot more setting up to do. Drinks very limited and payments by cash or bank transfer only until a card machine is installed. BUT waitress was absolutely charming and nothing was too much trouble. Chef who was also charming and attentive knew exactly what she’s doing in the kitchen and food was delicious! Booked a table for last Sunday at 4pm. We had an amazing experience, the staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. It was the 2 of us and let me tell you, the £65 boil was more than enough for us so it was really good value. The Jas sauce was so good with just the right amount of garlic and kick to it.

We only had soft drinks but all drinks were reasonably priced.

We also enjoyed the music, especially the Zimbabwean music.

I would recommend anyone to try this place, we needed something like this in Kent. I am already planning my next trip ☺️.
