Save room for the dessert. Not too sweet, pandan with desiccated coconut and ice cream. Soft, yummy. We ordered one with 2 spoons. Secretly, i regretted we hadn't ordered two portions. Not to worry, i have made a note that, any time i am need of a dessert and i am in Maidstone..... This is the place to come.
Not that i am dismissing the savoury side. We had satay chicken, prawn tempura, salt & pepper squid, chicken sesame toast (like a prawn toast but made with chicken), papaya salad and green curry with chicken.
Papaya salad was hot enough but didn't have enough palm sugar sweetness for my taste. I added some of the Thai sweet chili sauce that was the dip for the prawn tempura and that fixed it. The tempura wasn't (IMHO) made with any recipe i know of for tempura. This was wholesale, frozen bought (probably wing yip) with no flavor at all. Ditto the chicken sesame toast. Perhaps both had been in the deep fryer too long.
Satay chicken, squid and green curry all very nice and fresh.
This was lunchtime and they were probably more prepared for their set menu than the a la carte choices we made. Their dinner menu looks inviting and contains one of my all time favourites; crispy prawn salad. I will return if only to sample this and have a repeat of the pandan dessert. Though, i suspect, that they may have fresh pandan leaves and be able to cook pandan chicken. I live in hope.

Food Quality : 4.7/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4.2/5 Price: 4.4/5
Overall : 4.6 / 5 Would definitely come again.
Iāve been to South East Asia , and Thailand multiple times travelling, experienced lots of food around there. I can say Thai Rice Club is the most authentic Thai Resturant Iāve had in the UK. A dim lit bar style Resturant , resembling sort of a Creams style ice cream dessert Resturant, this Thai restaurants presentation aesthetically wouldnāt be something you expect to see from a Thai Resturant.
Service was decent, polite staff, with warm hospitality.
The food menu had a great deal of selections to choose from, a mixture of Thai favourites, good selection of drinks, alcoholic drinks were rather pricy but what do you expect for city centre and also in Kent.
Ordered a mixture of Thai starters, classics : chicken satay, chili squid, papaya salad and pancake roll - all cooked well, satay chicken cook be thicker and not faltened chicken. Papaya salad could have been spicier but was perfection, flavourful , sweet, sour and spicy , perfect.
Main : Thai green curry, pad Thai and spicy stir fry noodles and morning glory, all cooked very well, authentic , flavourful, tasty , had all the flavours that you would expect.
Definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe popped into Thai rice club for a late lunch/ early dinner today whilst passing through Maidstone, and what a great find!
The service was wonderful (very friendly and attentive!) and we were seated and served very quickly.
We ordered starters and mains each and my goodness; the food was so flavourful. I had the pad Thai, and honestly havenāt tasted a Pad Thai like this since I lived in Bangkok :D For my starter I went with fried chicken wings, and the portion size was fantastic. Great quality and great value.
My partner went with the spring rolls and veggie green curry - again, the flavours were authentic and you can tell these guys are making proper Thai food.
We hadnāt intended to have desert but are very glad we did; I went with the Thai pancakes (YUM!) and my partner with the deep fried banana (also YUM!)
Overall we paid around £39 each for an amazing meal. The wonderful, friendly staff made it even better so thank you to all at the restaurant - we...
