Extremely disappointed... The bed frame and pillow case in the first room were dirty and the light fixture broken with no safety tape or warning so the inside was exposed. The pillow looked like it had a foot print on and the bed frame had what looked like food all over it! We were also put in a double room, even though I asked for a twin room over a month prior to my stay. The reception staff said they were 'too full' so could not do anything about it apart from.offer another duvet. Whilst waiting 50 minutes for a duvet that never arrived I searched their website... After searching the website it showed they had accessible twin rooms available so I went back to reception to ask about it and offered to show my nan's disability badge (who was also staying in the hotel). They told me that they did not need to see it as these rooms were also 'business class rooms'. Expecting it be a lot more (as I wasn't offered this option), I asked how much it would cost to be told £10! I immediately offered to pay it bit was then told they would do it as a 'goodwill gesture' but added it could get her into trouble. The new room was clean and had 2 beds. The reviews about the 5th floor being hot/humid are correct but I could cope this over a dirty room. The rooms have no air con but a small fan is provided in the room as the window does not open more than an inch. Each room has a small kettle, tea, coffee, and cups provided. Shower worked finenand has body wash in a dispenser. Ultimately I wouldn't stay here again and would expect much better for £110 for 2 nights and I do NOT recommend this hotel and will not be coming back.

Terrible Experience - Avoid! I had an extremely disappointing stay at Travelodge Maidstone Central. Upon arrival, I noticed the toilet in my room was not clean, with urine on the toilet seat. To make matters worse, the bed sheet had a visible blood stain, as shown in the attached picture. There were also spider webs in the room, indicating poor cleaning and maintenance. The entire hallway reeked of weed, which made the environment highly uncomfortable. To top it all off, when I requested a microwave to heat food for my partner, who is diabetic and urgently needed to eat due to low sugar levels, the lady at the reception was incredibly rude. She flatly stated that the microwave was not for customers, leaving us with no choice but to go out at 11:30 PM to find a solution. This was an awful experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Cleanliness and customer service are basic expectations that were shockingly unmet during our stay.

Travelodge hotels are lower down the scale and this one is no exception. Fortunately they have some good staff to keep the score as 3 stars. 7 nights over 2 weeks, first week room smelt of wee, horrible even after cleaning and leaving the window open. 2nd week room much better but the whole place is dated and needs some care. Minimal parking on site but you can use Asda next door. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, even bacon was cooked properly! Dinner not so good, pie was rock hard, even the onion rings and nachos had been heated more than once. Fortunately there are some good eateries nearby. OK for one or two nights but there are much better places to stay.

I’m not sure what stars to give this. My third stay at this hotel I checked in on 29 October. All was normal, staff friendly and the room spotless and comfortable.

Just before 0H30 on 30 October I woke up with my hotel room door clicking and the light from the passage shining in. I screamed bloody murder and profanities. I heard a woman’s voice and the door closed. It took me a few moments to gather myself and find the number for reception which I called (0H32 in my call register) A woman answered and I said who I was and from What room. She identified herself as the manager and said it was her entering my room as she was unaware anyone was in there!!! She DID NOT apologise and was more offended by my reaction!!!

I left for work early on the 30th and sent an email to Travelodge detailing this to which I have had no response as yet.

Coming back to the hotel on the evening of the 30th after work I spoke to reception. Helpful on the face of it, but also not helpful. I explained the whole situation and he suggested I try and catch the manager the following morning. I barricaded myself into my room on this night.

The next morning I missed the manager again. The receptionist from the day before didn’t offer to take my details to get the manager to contact me.

I am extremely uncomfortable with what happened and I will not be staying in this hotel again as I don’t believe it is safe. Simply put, if this was a genuine mistake (at half past midnight?) Surely the next shift would have been told of this for in case the issue was raised, it wasn’t. If it was a genuine error, surely you would contact the customer to apologise, no-one has. I fear that this may have been more nefarious.

An update. The manager Christine was and is absolutely awful. She wouldn’t let me talk, claims it was her whom I spoke to and it was her that entered my room. I didn’t want a refund, I wanted to know how and why this happened, all she could say was that she thought the room Was empty. When I asked what if there was en emergency situation, she said they would have seen on the system that the room was not empty, so I pushed again and asked why did she think it was empty if she could look it up on the system. She shouted over me and refused to answer. To not deal with her anymore I asked for a refund, which isn’t what I wanted - I really wanted to know how this happened. I told her she is lying about the events, and twisting what happened. No-one should be entering your hotel room. She ended the call by telling me to not stay at the travelodge group hotels...

Me and my husband are key workers. We had booking in Travelodge in Maidstone. We had to travel for the business meeting with logistic company. When we have arrived, the hotel employee has refused to register us due to the fact, that hotel has been available only for NHS stuff. However there was nothing mentioned on the Travelodge website. We haven't received any email notification regards the new rules applied at the hotel due to coronavirus. We were surprised about such issue, as hotel booking confirmation went through successfully. The receipt about the booking has been emailed to us. While being there we have seen people in working outfit, such as construction workers etc standing outside the hotel and smoking. Another issue was that the hotel agreed to book in only one person, as the we have been told that two people can't stay in the same rule because of the distance rule. At the same time, all employees which have been working at the reception didn't keep any distance between them and had no masks on. They mentioned that they are working together. Funny thing is that I am living with the person I wanted to book a room with. The only conclusion out of the whole this issue was that we had to stay outside or trying to find another place to stay. On the next day we came to speak to manager regards such issue. During such conversation we have been told that key workers can also stay at the hotel, which hasn't been mentioned before. We couldnt get through Travelodge customer service line, as the line was off. We also have tried to email the hotel, however there was no respond from other side. Automatic email came through with the message that they will respond in 7 working days. We were lucky to find a different hotel nearby. When we came to confirm the booking, there wasn't any issues with the registration or allowing us to stay at the hotel. It was a very big disappointment and stress, as we are not local to Maidstone. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND TRAVELODGE TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS...

I read the reviews before booking & wasn’t too sure but it was convenient for me so I went ahead & booked. I am glad I did as I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were lovely & welcoming, I stayed for 2 nights & put my top up request on the door after 1 night I only wanted coffee & milk but when I got back not only had the housekeeping team topped those up but had also emptied my bins & put fresh towels in for me which I wasn’t expecting so a really nice touch. The hotel itself is secure & I felt very safe travelling alone. I used the option of choosing my room when booking & opted for the top floor for the view overlooking the river Medway which was lovely. My room was ample for what I needed though I have stayed in bigger that said it was clean & tidy & upon arrival the window was open, the curtains semi closed & a fan on for me as the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning which I already knew plus there was a sign on the reception clearly stating information regarding this which was in easy view when checking in. I found I had to close my window at night to sleep due to the noise from town at night though this wasn’t a problem for me as it’s to be expected on a weekend so close to town (I even got a video of some fireworks one of the nights) the only thing about my room was the water pressure on the shower not being great & I wasn’t sure if it was due to a lot of people possibly using the showers or it being an older style shower however the shower worked well enough for me to be able to shower numerous times with no issues so I didn’t see it as a huge issue. Overall a great stay, great staff & a lovely clean hotel. I will definitely stay here again when in the area. Many thanks for a...
